Background:Cardiovascular effects of acute organophosphate (OP) poisoning are common. This study was aimed to assess the cardiovascular effects of OP poisoned patients in Nepal. Methods:This was a prospective hospital-based cross-sectional study of 115 acute OP poisoned patients presenting in emergency department of a tertiary care teaching hospital of central Nepal during November 2008 to Octo...

Electrocardiography (ECG) may be used to recognize cardiac disorders. Levels of milk production may change the serum electrolytes which its imbalance has a role in cardiac arrhythmia. Fifty high yielding and fifty low yielding Holstein dairy cows were used in this study. Electrocardiography was recorded by base-apex lead and blood samples were collected from jugular vein for measurement of seru...

Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy/dysplasia (ARVC/D) is an inherited cardiomyopathy characterized by progressive fibro-fatty replacement of the right ventricular myocardium. We report a case where mapping of endocardial potentials during sinus rhythm identified the re-entry circuit of a recurrent ventricular tachycardia in a patient with ARVC. The tachycardia was subsequently abla...

A 41-year-old male was presented with drug-resistant supraventricular tachycardia. Electrophysiological study confirmed that the supraventricular tachycardia was caused by dual atrioventricular nodal pathways and a left lateral accessory pathway (AP). The left lateral AP was resistant to traditional endocardial ablation, but was successfully eliminated by radiofrequency ablation via the intraco...

Case evaluation A 12-lead baseline electrocardiogram at admission showed sinus rhythm without signs of ischemia. There were no abnormal findings on physical examination. Biochemical blood evaluation showed no abnormalities. An echocardiogram revealed a normal morphology and function of the heart. Holter monitoring revealed bouts of regular supraventricular tachycardia while eating, with a maxim...

Atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT) is a relatively common paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia. This study investigated whether adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP) injection during sinus rhythm might be useful in the noninvasive diagnosis of dual AV nodal pathways. The study group consisted of 9 patients with slow/fast AVNRT and 11 control patients without antegrade dual AV nod...

This report presents a verapamil-sensitive atrial tachycardia, mid-atrium septum activating the earliest. Concealed entrainment was obtained at noncoronary aortic sinus (NCS), where the local activation was delayed compared to mid-septum. The tachycardia was successfully ablated at NCS. The entrance of the slow conduction zone was located at NCS.

We report a case of apparent isolation of the right inferior pulmonary vein during atrial fibrillation ablation coincident with the onset of an atrial tachycardia. This report highlights the importance of assessing pulmonary vein conduction during sinus or paced rhythm at relatively long cycle length, rather than in atrial fibrillation or atrial tachycardia.

Tacrolimus is a potent immunosuppressive agent widely used after organ transplantation. In this present study we present eight patients who complained of palpitation after kidney transplantation. Eight out of 31 patients who received tacrolimus after kidney transplantation suffered from tachycardia. Resting electrocardiography, 24 hours Holter monitorization, echocardiography were performed, an...
