We demonstrated laser operation of a passively Q-switched diode-pumped Er:YAG solid-state laser emitting at 1645 or 1617 nm depending on the initial transmission of the Cr:ZnSe saturable absorber. The crystal emitted up to 10 W at 1645 nm and up to 8 W at 1617 nm in CW mode while pumped with 65 W of incident pump power at 1533 nm. In passive Q-switched mode with 40 W of incident power, a Cr:ZnS...

Quite a number of laser models with chaotic behavior have appeared recently. The most famous example is the Lorenz equations [I] which coincide with the equations for a single-mode laser [2,3] . In a similar system, chaos was numerically obtained by Grasyk and Oraevsky [4] . Multimode chaotic oscillations were reported for lasers with a saturable absorber [5] and without it [6]. In a number of ...

We present the first stabilization of the frequency comb offset from a diode-pumped gigahertz solid-state laser oscillator. No additional external amplification and/or compression of the output pulses is required. The laser is reliably modelocked using a SESAM and is based on a diode-pumped Yb:CALGO gain crystal. It generates 1.7-W average output power and pulse durations as short as 64 fs at a...

In this paper, recent progress made in the design and development of an all-solid-state, single longitudinal mode, conductively cooled Nd:YAG laser operating at 1064 nm wavelength for UV lidar for ozone sensing applications is presented. Currently, this pump laser provides an output pulse energy of >1.1 J/pulse at 50 Hz PRF and a pulsewidth of 22 ns. The spatial profile of the output beam is a ...

We report the operation of a diode-pumped monolithic Q-switched unstable-resonator solid-state laser that generates 2.15-mJ, 2-ns pulses in a single transverse mode and a single longitudinal mode. We show that the unstable resonator is effective in suppressing the spatial and the temporal instability of the laser beam in a disk-shaped laser whose transverse dimension is comparable with or large...

in this work, all-solid-state potentiometric pvc membrane sensor was introduced for fast andsimple monitoring of mercury ions in waste water samples. the all solid sate electrode is made based on aconductive composite of graphite, reduced graphene oxide, epoxy resin on a copper wire. a thin layer pvcmembrane is then coated on the surface of the new conducting transducer. pvc membrane is compose...

We have demonstrated an 18.9 nm Ni-like molybdenum soft x-ray laser, pumped by a compact all-diode-pumped Yb:YAG laser. The solid-state pump laser produces 8.5 ps pulses with up to 1 J energy at 10 Hz repetition rate. This diode-pumped laser has the potential to greatly increase the repetition rate and the average power of soft x-ray lasers on a significantly smaller footprint.

a solid state fermentation method was developed for the production of citric acid from date pulp (obtained of date syrup production from the process) by aspergillus niger ptcc 5010. poor yield was obtained when potassium ferrocyanide treated date pulp were used as substrate, but methanol at a 3-4% concentration markedly increased the forma-tion of citric acid from the waste. the optimum range o...

Since the first demonstration of net cooling twenty years ago, optical refrigeration of solids has progressed to outperform all other solid-state cooling processes. It has become the first and only solid-state refrigerator capable of reaching cryogenic temperatures, and now the first solid-state cooling below 100 K. Such substantial progress required a multi-disciplinary approach of pump laser ...
