We study the large scale geometry of the upper triangular subgroup of PSL2(Z[ 1 n ]), which arises naturally in a geometric context. Let G = 〈S〉 be a solvable subgroup of the symmetric group Sn given as input by the generator set S. We give a deterministic polynomialtime algorithm that computes an expanding generator set of size Õ(n) for G. As a byproduct of our proof, we obtain a new explicit construction of ε-bias spaces of size Õ(npoly(log d))( 1 ε ) for the groups Zd .

In this paper, we classify the indecomposable non-nilpotent solvable Lie algebras with $N(R_n,m,r)$ nilradical,by using the derivation algebra and the automorphism group of $N(R_n,m,r)$.We also prove that these solvable Lie algebras are complete and unique, up to isomorphism.

We prove that the word problem of a finitely generated group G is in NP (solvable in polynomial time by a non-deterministic Turing machine) if and only if this group is a subgroup of a finitely presented group H with polynomial isoperimetric function. The embedding can be chosen in such a way that G has bounded distortion in H. This completes the work started in [26] and [24].
