We report here the first example of ZIF materials synthesized in aqueous solution. The synthesis was performed at room temperature and typically took several minutes compared to hours and days in non-aqueous conditions. The obtained product were ZIF-8 nanocrystals having size of ~85 nm and showed excellent thermal, hydrothermal and solvothermal stabilities.
The layered-solvothermal synthesis of zinc acetate dihydrate with 5-phosphonobenzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid yields a three-dimensional rutile-type porous metal-organic framework, which is an anionic open-framework containing local proton transfer with hydrated protons and showing excellent size-selective properties.
Boron nitride quantum dots are obtained by a facile sonication-solvothermal technique. They are proven to be promising fluorescent bioimaging probes for bioimaging with remarkably low cytotoxicity and easily integrated into high-performance proton exchange membranes. This work will probably trigger research interest in BN and its new applications in a variety of fields.
Multifunctional Bi2O3 porous nanospheres (PNs) with tunable size have been successfully synthesized via a facile solvothermal method. The obtained Bi2O3 porous nanospheres demonstrate outstanding performance in visible-light-driven photocatalysis for Cr(VI) and organic dye removal, inactivation of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, as well as template-synthesis for fabrication of bismuth...
Zirconium oxide based Metal-Organic Frameworks were synthesised using a rapid and efficient microwave-assisted solvothermal method that produced purer phases and higher quality crystalline products in significantly (>95%) less time than the conventional heating method. A new amino-functionalised analogue has been synthesised exclusively using this microwave-assisted methodology.
Strongly fluorescent graphene quantum dots (GQDs) have been prepared by one-step solvothermal method with PL quantum yield as high as 11.4%. The GQDs have high stability and can be dissolved in most polar solvents. Because of fine biocompatibility and low toxicity, GQDs are demonstrated to be excellent bioimaging agents.
Uniform thin films of a metal-organic framework, which is constructed from free-base porphyrin linkers and hexa-zirconium nodes (MOF-525), are solvothermally grown on conducting substrates. Subsequently, solvothermal post metalations are employed to prepare the Zn-MOF-525 and Co-MOF-525 thin films. All the thin films are electroactive in aqueous media.
The title compound, (C4H7N2)2[AlP2O7(OH)], is a one-dimensional extended-chain aluminophosphate prepared by a solvothermal synthesis from an alcohol system. The infinite [AlP2O7(OH)]2- chains composed of AlO4, PO2(=O)2 and PO2(=O)(OH) tetrahedra are linked via hydrogen bonds to the 2-methylimidazolium cations.
We reported a universal route for synthesizing porous organic ligands (POLs) via solvothermal polymerization. The POLs were obtained quantitatively, showing high surface area, large pore volume, hierarchical porosity, and superior stability. The POL bearing a triphenylphosphine supported rhodium catalyst (Rh/POL-PPh3) exhibits high activity and excellent recyclability in 1-octene hydroformylation.
A new chiral open-framework cobalt phosphite [C6N2H14][Co(HPO3)2] (1) with helical channels has been synthesized under solvothermal conditions in the presence of achiral organic amine. The circular dichroism (CD) spectrum indicates that the bulk crystals have optical activity. Magnetic measurements reveal that 1 is a weak ferromagnet.
