1. The effect of oven-drying on the heat of combustion of rat carcasses was studied and found to produce losses of 10% of the original energy content. Oven-drying also produced a small loss of nitrogen. 2. A method of carcass preparation not involving oven-drying was tested and found to produce suitably homogeneous samples for analysis without any loss of energy.

Accurate estimations of nutrient digestion and retention are critical in nutrient balance and feed evaluation studies because errors that occur are often additive. However, there is no standard universal method for drying feces, urine, or excreta before laboratory analysis. The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of 4 different drying methods on nutrient concentrations in feces, ...

[1] This study uses a cloud-resolving model under the weak temperature gradient (WTG) approximation to explore the response of deep convection to imposed drying. The drying, intended to mimic horizontal advection of dry air, is imposed as a linear relaxation of the humidity field toward zero within a specified layer. Radiative cooling and sea surface temperature are held constant and there is n...

Citation: Haggag YA and Faheem AM (2015) Evaluation of nano spray drying as a method for drying and formulation of therapeutic peptides and proteins. The high sensitivity of peptides and proteins to physicochemical stresses during processing and storage is the major hurdle against its pharmaceutical applications. Peptide-based drug formulations are commonly prepared as solid dosage forms becaus...

drying properties of high moisture potato slices with initial moisture content of about 4.06 (db) under thin layer fixed, semi fluidized and fluidized bed conditions were studied. drying air temperatures of 40, 50, 60 and 70°c were applied in experiments using a laboratory fluidized bed convective dryer. in order to predict the drying behavior of potato slices, seven thin layer drying models we...

Roses, both fresh and dried, often appear during festive occasions. However, roses do not last long, dried flowers are marinated with environmentally unfriendly chemicals. This paper proposes the procedure experiment of drying by freeze-drying method. After proposed method, results show that rose color changes very slightly but still retains its natural, eye-catching, friendly appearance.

In this study, two processes (fermentation and drying) were conducted on Clicanthus Nutans Lindau, which is well-known for its antioxidant activities. The aim of this research is to investigate the effects of these processes towards the Total Phenolic Content (TPC), antioxidant activity and the crude yield of the leaves. For the fermentation process, the fermentation time is varied for 6, 12, 2...
