OBJECTIVE To examine the potential of chronic severe bacterial infection to generate rheumatoid factor (RF) and anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPAs), by studying patients with bronchiectasis (BR) alone and BR patients with rheumatoid arthritis (BR/RA). METHODS We studied 122 patients with BR alone, 50 patients with BR/RA, and 50 RA patients without lung disease, as well as 87 patient...

In the dinuclear centrosymmetric title complex, [Hg(2)Br(4)(C(17)H(13)N(5)O(2))(2)]·2C(3)H(7)NO, the Hg(II) atom is coordinated by two Br atoms and two N atoms from two different ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The solvent mol-ecule is linked to the 28-atom ring by two hydrogen bonds.

In the title compound, C(8)H(5)Br(3)ClNO, the conformation of the N-H bond is syn to the 2-chloro substituent in the benzene ring. There are no classical inter-molecular hydrogen bonds, but intra-molecular N-H⋯Br and N-H⋯Cl contacts occur.

The UV photolysis of 8-bromo-2'-deoxyadenosine has been investigated in different solvents and in the presence of additives like halide anions. Photolytic cleavage of the C-Br bond leads to formation of the C8 radical. In methanol, subsequent hydrogen abstraction from the solvent is the main radical reaction; however, in water or acetonitrile intramolecular hydrogen abstraction from the sugar m...

In the unit cell of the title compound, (C21H27N2)3[CoBr4]Br·6CHCl3, the tetrabromidocobaltate(II) anion and the bromide anion are located on a crystallographic threefold rotation axis. For the [CoBr4](2-) group, the axis runs through one of the Br ligands and the Co(II) atom. All other structure moieties lie on general sites. Various tris-(1,3-dimesityl-4,5-di-hydro-1H-imidazol-3-ium) structur...

We have measured the branching ratio BR(φ → ππγ) with the KLOE detector using a sample of ∼5 × 10 φ decays. φ mesons are produced at DAΦNE, the Frascati φ-factory. We find BR(φ→ππγ)= (1.09 ± 0.03stat ± 0.05syst)× 10 . We fit the two–pion mass spectrum to models to disentangle contributions from various sources.

The crystal structure of the title compound, C(8)H(5)Br(3)ClNO, shows both intra-molecular N-H⋯Br and inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are packed into column-like chains in the c-axis direction via the N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

In the title compound, C(8)H(5)Br(3)ClNO, the conformation of the N-H bond is anti to the 3-chloro substituent in the benzene ring. An intra-molecular N-H⋯Br hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, mol-ecules are packed into infinite chains in the a-axis direction by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
