We developed the anatomic rectangular tunnel anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ART ACLR) with a bone-patellar tendon-bone graft to mimic fibre arrangement inside the native ACL via tunnels with smaller apertures. With a 10-mm-wide graft, the cross-sectional area of the tunnels of 50 mm2 in ART ACLR is less than that of 79 mm2 in a 10-mm round tunnel one. Because tunnel encroachment wou...

As a new three-dimensional breast imaging technique, breast tomosynthesis allows the reconstruction of an arbitrary set of planes in the breast from a limited-angle series of x-ray projection images. The breast tomosynthesis technique has been demonstrated as promising to improve early breast cancer detection. This paper represents a preliminary phantom study and computer simulation results of ...

3D reconstruction is an important field in computer vision. Many approaches are based on multiple images of a given scene. Using only one single image is far more challenging. Monocular image reconstruction can still be achieved by using regular and symmetric structures, which often appear in human environment. In this work we derive two schemes to recover 3D rectangles based on their 2D projec...

PTSD or post traumatic stress disorder is one of the most important psychological disorders in children in which symptoms such as anxiety and depression can be seen. Beside the strategies like CBT or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and psychotherapy art therapy is one of the most important strategies which can help to children with PTSD to cope with this disorder. According to art therapy studies ...

This paper extends particle aggregate reconstruction technique (PART), a reconstruction algorithm for binary tomography based on the movement of particles. PART supposes that pixel values are particles, and that particles diffuse through the image, staying together in regions of uniform pixel value known as aggregates. In this work, a variation of this algorithm is proposed and a focus is place...

Advances in computed tomography and availability of high performance computing in the last decade have shown importance of iterative reconstruction in combination with statistical methods. An attempt is made to compare two existing iterative methods used for reconstruction namely ART and SART. The results show that ART is a highly computational intensive and time taking process compared to SART...

Due to the potential of compact imaging systems with magnified spatial resolution and contrast, cone-beam x-ray differential phase-contrast computed tomography (DPC-CT) has attracted significant interest. The current proposed FDK reconstruction algorithm with the Hilbert imaginary filter will induce severe cone-beam artifacts when the cone-beam angle becomes large. In this paper, we propose an ...

We give a ncw method for direct reconstruction of threc-dimcnsional objects from a fcw electron micrographs taken at angles which nced not exceed a range of 60 degrees. Thc method works for totally asymmctric objects, and rcquircs littlc computer timc or storage. It is also applicable to X-ray photography. and may greatly reduce the exposurc compared to current methods of body-scction radiography.

We report on our first results on the use of Algebraic Reconstruction Techniques (ART) on helical cone-beam Computerized Tomography (CT) data. Two variants of ART have been implemented: a standard one which considers a single ray in an iterative step and a block version which groups several conebeam projections in calculating an iterative update. Both seem to produce high-quality reconstruction...
