Genital gender affirming surgery (GAS) involves reconstruction of the genitals to match a patient's identified sex. The use of hair-bearing flaps in this procedure may result in postoperative intra-vaginal and intra-urethral hair growth and associated complications, including lower satisfaction with genital GAS. Despite the significant increase in genital GAS within the past 50 years, there is ...

We present the case of a symptomatic anterior elbow cyst supposedly due to repeated (exertional) trauma. Instead of the usual open excision, arthroscopic excision was performed using a Wissinger rod through an additional anterolateral portal for distraction. Histopathology confirmed the lesion to be a ganglion. MRI 12 months postoperatively showed no recurrence.

An environmentally benign, fast and convenient protocol has been developed for the Michael addition of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds to β-nitroalkenes in good to excellent yields by a grinding method under catalyst- and solvent-free conditions.

Background:  The purpose of this study was to report the preoperative complaints and postoperative outcome of patients after removal of the radial head prosthesis.   Methods:  This is a retrospective review of 14 adult patients (6 females and 8 males) from 2007 to 2011, who underwent radial head prosthesis removal by three surgeons. This article describes a systematic literature review on whether, how, and when to perform preoperative hair removal. By searching electronic databases and reference lists of relevant articles, team members identified 20 clinical studies that deal with preoperative hair removal. No strong evidence was found to advocate against preoperative hair removal. Furthermore, there was strong evidence to...

Plant species assemblages, communities or regional floras might be termed 'saturated' when additional immigrant species are unsuccessful at establishing due to competitive exclusion or other inter-specific interactions, or when the immigration of species is off-set by extirpation of species. This is clearly not the case for state, regional or national floras in the USA where colonization (i.e. ...

We are in a state of evolution in long-term hair removal. Safe and effective technology is now available. Lasers will always become smaller, faster, and perhaps more effective. For those interested in offering this procedure, evidence indicates that we are beyond the experimental phase. The treating physician should carefully review current available technology and receive proper training speci...

Galaxy shear - cosmic microwave background (CMB) lensing convergence cross-correlations contain additional information on cosmology to auto-correlations. While being immune certain systematic effects, they are affected by the galaxy intrinsic alignments (IA). This may be responsible for reported low amplitude of $\times$ CMB cross-correlations, compared standard Planck $\Lambda$CDM (cosmologica...
