Experts know that bound state energy eigenvalues of a potential well are poles its transmission amplitude, $t(E)$. The textbooks do by solving the states and scattering separately, but connection goes unheeded. Here, we present interesting instructive illustrations, where extract from known coefficients $(T(E)=|t(E)|^2)$ for six analytically solvable wells.

The existence of a second bound state of PsH that is electronically stable and also stable against positron annihilation by the normal 2gamma and 3gamma processes is demonstrated by explicit calculation. The state can be found in the ;{2,4}S;{o} symmetries with the two electrons in a spin-triplet state. The binding energy against dissociation into the H(2p)+Ps(2p) channel was 7.03 x 10;(-4) har...

Neutrino reaction cross-sections, (ν µ , µ −), (ν e , e −), µ-capture and photoab-sorption rates on 12 C are computed within a large-basis shell-model framework , which included excitations up to 4¯ hω. When ground-state correlations are included with an open p-shell the predictions of the calculations are in reasonable agreement with most of the experimental results for these reactions. Woods-...

Muonium, the atom which consists of a positive muon and an electron, has been discovered by a team led by Vernon W. Hughes in 1960. It is in many respects the most ideal atom available from nature. Due to the close confinement in the bound state muonium can be used as an ideal probe of electro-weak interaction, including particularly Quantum Electrodynamics, and to search for additional yet unk...

We have previously shown that a ferromagnet-superconductor heterostructure may possess a spontaneous current circulation parallel to the interface. This current is caused by Andreev bound states in the thin ferromagnetic layer, and can be fully spin-polarized. Here we investigate the total energy of the system in cases where the current either does or does not flow. We show that the current is ...

This talk summarizes some results on bound-state properties obtained since the previous (1998) RADCOR meeting. Recent results on radiative corrections to positronium decay width and the g-factor of a bound electron are described. A new approach to evaluating recoil corrections in systems consisting of particles with different masses is discussed.

We consider the dimensional reduction of N = 1 SYM2+1 to 1+1 dimensions. The gauge groups we consider are U(N) and SU(N), where N is finite. We formulate the continuum bound state problem in the light-cone formalism, and show that any normalizable SU(N) bound state must be a superposition of an infinite number of Fock states. We also discuss how massless states arise in the DLCQ formulation for...
