In this study, cellulose acetate (CA)/polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and CA/PVP/Mn2+ nanofibers were produced by the electrospinning method, these cellulose-derived membranes used as carriers for arginase immobilization first time. The structural morphological analysis of determined attenuated total reflection-Fourier to transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric (TGA), X-ray diffrac...
A novel biocomposite material was developed by immobilizing an ammonia-oxidizing bacterial strain, Acinetobacter calcoaceticus STB1, on an electrospun porous cellulose acetate (CA) nanofibrous web. Ammonium removal characteristics of the STB1 immobilized CA nanofibrous web were determined at varying initial ammonium concentrations, and removal rates of 100%, 98.5% and 72% were observed within 4...
Cellulose nanofiber reinforced starch membrane with high mechanical strength and durability in water
Stabilizer-free polyaniline nanofiber aqueous colloids were obtained by the direct dispersing of polyaniline nanofiber prepared in the presence of β-cyclodextrin. The polyaniline nanofiber, the diameters of which are between 80 and 100 nm, can be steadily dispersed in near neuter (pH=6.5) aqueous solution for about 60 days without any steric or electrostatic stabilizer. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. A highly crystalline polyethylene nanofiber is deflected by a cantilever under an atomic force microscope. The resulting approach and retract curves on both nanofiber and silicon substrate yield the Young's modulus of the nanofiber. The experiments show that the average Young's modulus of polyethylene nanofibers with diameters from 70 nm to 260 nm can be as high as 312 GPa.
