This paper is concerned with characterizing psych-predicates in Korean and possibly in Japanese in the GL spirit. We focus on the the status of the Experiencer (or ‘judge’) in relation to other arguments and examine the firstperson subjectivity data (constraint). The relevant cause and effect relation and consequent coerced event function is postulated for coherent interpretation.

This paper addresses the problem of characterizing analytically the autocorrelation structure of TCP traffic. We show that, under simple models, a single TCP connection generates traffic with an exponentially decreasing autocorrelation function. However, several TCP connections sharing a given link can generate traffic with long term dependencies, under the condition that the distribution of th...

In this paper bearing the same title as our earlier survey-paper [11] we pursue the goal of characterizing the global solutions of an optimization problem, i.e. getting at necessary and sufficient conditions for a feasible point to be a global minimizer (or maximizer) of the objective function. We emphasize nonconvex optimization problems presenting some specific structures like ‘convexanticonv...

In this paper explicit expressions and some recurrence relations are derived for marginal and joint moment generating functions of generalized order statistics from Erlang-truncated exponential distribution. The results for k-th record values and order statistics are deduced from the relations derived. Further, a characterizing result of this distribution on using the conditional expectation of...

Most approaches to model-based diagnosis describe a diagnosis for a system as a set of failing components that explains the symptoms. In order to characterize the typically very large number of diagnoses, usually only the minimal such sets of failing components are represented. This method of characterizing all diagnoses is inadequate in general, in part because not every superset of the faulty...

We study the isospectrality problem for a free quantum particle confined in ring with junction, analyzing all self-adjoint realizations of corresponding Hamiltonian terms boundary condition at junction. In particular, by characterizing energy spectrum spectral function, we classify two classes, identifying families isospectral Hamiltonians. These classes turn out to be discerned action parity (...

The transient response of passivated metallic electrode system under potential step was analyzed based on a linear model, and a technique for calculating the parameters characterizing the growth and dissolution of passive film was proposed. It is believed that the information which is expected to be gained from the impedance measurement can be obtained by this technique and that this technique ...

The proposed PLSN specifically targets the use of passive sensing techniques, focusing on monitoring and predicting the real-time dynamic capacity of a specific span of a power line under present weather conditions by using computational intelligence technologies. An ancillary function is to detect the presence of incipient failures along overhead power lines via monitoring and characterizing t...

This paper deals with the problem of the aggregation of implication functions. After characterizing those binary operations which merge two implication functions into a new implication function, we study some aspects of the aggregated implication functions in terms of the two given ones. In particular, we are interested in aggregation processes such that properties of the implication functions ...

This paper is concerned with the problem of characterizing those functions of minimum LP-norm on their nth derivative, <=p=<, that sequentially take on the given values (ei). For p = the unique minimizing function is characterized. For p < fairly explicit necessary conditions are given.
