In this work, the brain lesions that cause spontaneously hyperintense T1 signal on MRI were studied under seven categories. The first category includes lesions with hemorrhagic components, such as infarct, encephalitis, intraparenchymal hematoma, cortical contusion, diffuse axonal injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural and epidural hematoma, intraventricular hemorrhage, vascular malformation...

Effective use of colloid transport models for heterogeneous subsurface porous media requires the development of methodologies to identify the key model parameters. The inverse problem of a two-dimensional model for colloid transport in geochemically heterogeneous porous media is systematically investigated in this paper. Sensitivity analysis prior to the parameter identification provided valuab...

Epithelial cyst in an intrapancreatic accessory spleen (ECIPAS) is exceedingly rare with only 57 cases reported since the first publication in 1980. Comprehensive clinical and diagnostic features remain to be clarified. We present a case of ECIPAS in a 21-year-old Philippine woman who was admitted with right upper quadrant abdominal pain. A cystic lesion in the pancreatic tail was discovered an...

A conceptual model for colloid transport is developed that accounts for colloid attachment straining, and exclusion. Colloid attachment and detachment is modeled using first-order rate expressions, whereas straining is described using an irreversible first-order straining term that is depth dependent. Exclusion is modeled by adjusting transport parameters for colloid-accessible pore space. Fitt...

Background: The normal thyroid gland is a fairly homogenous structure, but nodules often formed within its substance these nodule may be the growth and fusion of localized colloid – filled follicles, or discrete adenomas, or cyst. The terms adenomatous goiter, simple multi nodular goiter, non toxic nodular goiter, and colloid nodular goiter are used interchangeably as descriptive terms when a m...

In this research, cerium recycling was studied by Adsorbing Colloid Flotation (ACF). Ten important parameters including collector type and dosage, cerium and colloid concentrations, frother type, activator type, preparation and frothing time, air flowrate and pH, each in two levels, were investigated. Statistical design of experiment was implemented for process modelling and analysis of var...

We present two cases of surgically proved colloid cysts that were more apparent on CT scans than on MR images. These cysts, while hyperdense on CT scans, were nearly isointense with brain on multiple MR sequences. This relative lack of visibility represents a potential pitfall when imaging a patient with headache.

Introduction: The lymphatic system provides one of the main paths for the spread (Metastasis) of cancer from one part of body to another. Hodgkin’s diseases, lymphocytic leukemia, various metastatic disease and many lymph node disorders can be assessed by lymphoscintigraphy. Radionuclide lymphoscintigraphy has been used for many years to define lymphatic drainage of melanoma. The most com...
