Research in the field of orthopedic implantology is currently focused on developing methodologies to potentiate osseointegration and to expedite the reestablishment of full functionality. We have developed a simple biomimetic approach for preparing trace elements-codoped calcium phosphate (teCaP) coatings on a titanium substrate. The reaction proceeded via low-thermal incubation in trace elemen...

PURPOSE Although several surface treatments have been recently investigated both under in vitro and in vivo conditions, controversy still exists regarding the selection of the most appropriate zirconia surface pre-treatment. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of alumina (Al) and aluminium nitride (AlN) coating on the shear bond strength of adhesive resin cement to zirconia cor...

A novel one-step coating and assembly approach for fabricating well-defined ZnO nanodot/SiO₂ nanorod arrays by hydrolysis-recrystallization growth from 1-D ZnO nanorods is described. The resultant composite nanorod arrays exhibit much enhanced UV emission efficiencies and excellent stability, and thus offer particular promise for application in UV emission devices operating in harsh environments.
