Success of an exhibit can be judged in two ways—visitor measures and/or critical appraisal by experts. Visitor measures include behavior, knowledge, and affect. Critical appraisal by experts can take any of three perspectives — that of the expert in visitor studies, that of the expert in the subjectmatter, and that of the artist.
