Depth images have been used to approximate scene geometry in a variety of interactive 3-D graphics applications. In previous work, images were constructed using orthographic or perspective projection which limits approximation quality to what is visible along a single view direction or from a single viewpoint. This paper shows that images constructed with non-pinhole cameras improve approximati...

This paper presents an object occlusion detection algorithm using object depth information that is estimated by automatic camera calibration. The object occlusion problem is a major factor to degrade the performance of object tracking and recognition. To detect an object occlusion, the proposed algorithm consists of three steps: (i) automatic camera calibration using both moving objects and a b...

In-camera light scattering is a systematic error of Time-of-Flight depth cameras that significantly reduces the accuracy of the systems. A completely new model is presented, based on raw data calibration and only one additional intrinsic camera parameter. It is shown that the approach effectively removes the errors of in-camera light scattering.

As immersive multimedia services are expected to be available anytime and anywhere through a high-speed optical network in the near future, the importance of threedimensional (3-D) video is increasingly recognized as an essential part of high-quality visual media. As a 3-D video representation, it is widely accepted that a monoscopic color video enriched with per-pixel depth information, which ...

The task of camera calibration is to estimate the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of a camera model. Though there are some restricted techniques to infer the 3-D information about the scene from uncalibrated cameras, effective camera calibration procedures will open up the possibility of using a wide range of existing algorithms for 3-D reconstruction and recognition. The applications of cam...

Extracting 3D depth information from images is a classic problem of computer vision. Traditionally image depth could be extracted by techniques such as stereo camera or images from multiple views. In this project, we are trying to recognize the depth information by using a single still image from single camera, which has great potential applications in vision and recognition. To learn the compl...

Using multi-camera matching techniques for 3d reconstruction there is usually the trade-off between the quality of the computed depth map and the speed of the computations. Whereas high quality matching methods take several seconds to several minutes to compute a depth map for one set of images, real-time methods achieve only low quality results. In this paper we present a multi-camera matching...
