In this work, some nonconforming elements on arbitrary quadrilateral meshes in solving incompressible elastic equations are analyzed. A uniform optimal convergence rate is established at the incompressible limit ν = 0.5 for both displacement and stresses (or pressure in the case of incompressible flow).

We consider a linear elastic plate with stress-free boundary conditions in the limit of vanishing Poisson coefficient. We prove that under a local change of Young’s modulus infinitely many eigenvalues arise in the essential spectrum which accumulate at a positive threshold. We give estimates on the accumulation rate and on the asymptotical behaviour of the eigenvalues.

The cross section for elastic vector meson production in photon-proton interactions at large t is considered using the exact analytic solution of the BFKL equation in the azimuthally symmetric n = 0 limit. We use a non-relativistic model for the vector meson production and find a small shrinkage in the t-distribution with increasing energy.
