The generation of tribo-electric charge during pharmaceutical powder processing can cause a range of complications, including segregation of components leading to content uniformity and particle surface adhesion. This phenomenon becomes problematical when excipients are introduced to a powder mixture alongside the highly charging active pharmaceutical ingredient(s) (APIs). The aim of this study...

Ultrafast optical probing of the electric field by means of Stark effect in planar heterojunction cyanine dye/fullerene organic solar cells enables one to directly monitor the dynamics of free electron formation during the dissociation of interfacial charge transfer (CT) states. Motions of electrons and holes is scrutinized separately by selectively probing the Stark shift dynamics at selected ...

We discuss monopole core metastability in Alice electrodynamics. It is argued that in some part of the parameter space the spherically symmetric magnetic monopole is no longer the lowest energy configuration carrying a magnetic charge, and that a point monopole may well decay into an Alice loop carrying magnetic Cheshire charge. In view of an expected electric-magnetic duality, similar implicat...

Electric vehicles create a demand for additional electrical power. As the popularity of electric vehicles increases, the demand for more power can increase more rapidly than our ability to install additional generating capacity. In the long term we expect that the supply and demand will become balanced. However, in the interim the rate at which electric vehicles can be deployed will depend on o...

in this paper, numerical investigation of a flat passive micromixer with heterogeneous surface properties that the flow through it, is driven by the electroosmotic flow have been presented. the governing equations, which consist of a laplace equation for the distribution of external electric potential, a poisson equation for the distribution of electric double layer potential, modified navier-s...

Electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles are a suitable alternative for vehicles with hydrocarbons fuels to reduce pollution and fossil resources. The batteries operate as the driving force for these vehicles. One of the most critical parameters of the battery is computing the state of charge (SOC). The best range for SOC of lithium-ion battery is between 20% and 90%, and charging and dis...

Many applications in beam physics, particularly those concerning transverse beam dynamics, call for an approximate computation of the transverse electric field produced by the charge distribution of the beam, namely the field components in the plane perpendicular to the beam motion. Mathematically, this approximation becomes exact in the limit of an infinitely long charge distribution that is a...

The aim of the CERN/RD50 collaboration is the improvement of the radiation tolerance of semiconductor detectors for future experiments at high-luminosity colliders. In the RD50 framework, evidence of enhanced signal charge in severely irradiated silicon detectors (diodes, segmented planar and 3D devices) was found. The underlying mechanism was labelled charge multiplication. This has been one o...

The papers setting upper bounds on the value of electric charge of the photon are briefly reviewed. The theoretical framework of these bounds is shown to be incomplete. Hence the bounds seem to be unreliable. There exists about a dozen of papers questioning the neutrality of photon and setting an upper limit on its charge. The title of the first paper [1] was " Experimental limit on the " charg...

Two simple mathematical models of electric neuro-stimulation are derived and discussed. It is found that the common injected-charge model is less realistic than a model, in which a latency period, which follows after a short electric pulse, plays a role as important as the electric pulse. A stimulation signal is proposed that takes advantage of these findings and calls for experimental testing.
