We report on the spectroscopic, electrochemical, and electroluminescent properties of [Ir(ppy)(2)(dtb-bpy)](+)(PF(6))(-) (ppy: 2-phenylpyridine, dtb-bpy: 4,4'-di-tert-butyl-2,2'-dipyridyl).
