A review of different optimum flux search algorithms for loss minimization in a vector-controlled induction motor drive is presented. A fuzzy logic controller, actuating as a supervisor, is proposed to work, with reduced flux levels during transients, to optimize efficiency also in dynamic mode. Experimental results demonstrate the validity of the proposed methods.

This paper introduces a novel dual-air-gap surface permanent magnet synchronous motor (DAG-SPMSM) and investigates its electromagnetic characteristics. The comprises two stators (inner outer) single rotor with magnets on both sides outer). are arranged in zig-zag configuration to isolate the inner outer stator magnets. Additionally, magnetic shield is incorporated into further flux, which resul...

The bacterial flagellar motor is driven by a flux of ions between the cytoplasm and the periplasmic lumen. Here we show how an electrostatic mechanism can convert this ion flux into a rotary torque. We demonstrate that, with reasonable parameters, the model can reproduce many of the experimental measurements.

This paper deals with the flux estimation for sensorless induction motor drives. Stable zerospeed operation is achieved by using a speed-adaptive full-order flux observer and a simple software compensation of inverter nonlinearities. No voltage feedback is needed for the compensation and hardware costs can be lowered. Experimental results including stable zerospeed operation are shown.

The key role of mitochondria in patients affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is well documented by electron microscopy studies of motor neurons within spinal cord and brainstem. Nonetheless, recent studies challenged the role of mitochondria placed within the cell body of motor neuron. In fact, it was demonstrated that, despite preservation of mitochondria placed within this compart...

The paper presents diagnostics of induction motor stator faults. The decision on stator winding condition has been taken using the axial flux and based on artificial neural network with radial basis transfer function. The axial flux has been measured for different configuration of stator winding. On the basis of research it can be concluded that the axial flux can be successfully used in detect...

Abstract—In this paper, a direct torque control space vector modulation (DTC-SVM) scheme is presented for a six-phase speed and voltage sensorless induction motor (IM) drive. The decoupled torque and stator flux control is achieved based on IM stator flux field orientation. The rotor speed is detected by on-line estimating of the rotor angular slip speed and stator vector flux speed. In additio...

Since torque ripple is the main cause of noise and vibrations, the performance of Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) can be improved by minimizing its torque ripple using a novel control technique called Direct Torque Control (DTC). In DTC technique, torque is controlled directly through control of magnitude of the flux and change in speed of the stator flux vector. The flux and torque are maintai...

Abstract: For disadvantages of the large flux and torque ripple and current waveform distortion of Direct Torque Control (BASIC-DTC), the DTC scheme for induction motor based on torque angle closed-loop control was presented and the proposed scheme was realized with three methods of torque angle closed-loop control. The main characteristics of three methods of torque angle closed-loop control f...

In the conventional direct torque control (DTC) of a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), hysteresis controllers are employed to select the proper voltage vector resulting in large torque ripples, and the inverse voltage vector, used in this system instead of the zero voltage vectors used in an induction motor, can accelerate the torque response but enlarges the torque ripples at the same...
