1 The research was sponsored by the Department for Communities and Local Government, UK. It was led jointly by the Local Governance Research Unit at De Montfort University, UK (Lawrence Pratchett) and the e-Democracy Centre at the University of Geneva, Switzerland (Uwe Seurdult and Fernando Mendez). Country reports were developed by specialist country analysts: Estonia Liia Hanni (e-Governance ...
Gray-Scott model has been studied extensively in recent years. However, most of the results are in one dimensional. In this paper, we study the 2-D Gray-Scott system. We rst construct two single pulse solutions and then we establish the stability and instability of such solutions in terms of the parameters involved.
Research on efficient pairing implementation has focussed on reducing the loop length and on using high-degree twists. Existence of twists of degree larger than 2 is a very restrictive criterion but luckily constructions for pairing-friendly elliptic curves with such twists exist. In fact, Freeman, Scott and Teske showed in their overview paper that often the best known methods of constructing ...
Pathogenicity of Aeromonas hydrophila, previously isolated from kidney of apparently healthy silver carp, was tested in silver carp Hypophthalmichthys molitrix. Trials were also made to control the pathogen in the experimentally infected fish. Before artificial infection the morphological, biochemical and physiological characters of A. hydrophila were studied. The infection was done by intramus...
In present study the effect of different pre-frying temperatures in sunflower oil on physical and chemical characteristics of silver carp fish nuggets (Hypophthalmichthys molitrix) were studied. After prepared, the fish nuggets were pre-fried in sunflower oil heated to 150, 170 and 190°C. The measurements included: the proximate composition (protein, moisture, fat and ash), physical experiments...
We prove the Avrunin-Scott theorem for quantum complete intersections; the rank variety of a module is isomorphic to its support variety.
Social Desirability Bias (SDB) is the tendency in respondents to answer questions untruthfully in the hope of giving good impression to others. SDB occurs when the survey question is highly sensitive or personal, and responses cause sample statistics to systematically over-or underestimate corresponding population parameters. The Randomized Response Technique (RRT) is one of several methods to ...
The official end of Walter Scott’s often barely concealed anonymity as a novelist came with his putting his name to the ‘Introduction’ of the first volume of his Chronicles of the Canongate in 1827, where ‘The Author of Waverley’ and its successors finally dropped his mask and admitted what so many of his readers had long known. After admitting no obvious reason for his choice of remaining anon...
