In this research study, one of the most crucial automotive engineering problems is intended to be solved. The necessity of tire pressure monitoring system is beyond doubt. Such systems are now provided relying on expensive sensors. In this study an indirect tire pressure monitoring system is proposed, utilizing identification techniques, which will reduce the cost of monitoring considerably in ...

This paper deals with modelling and parameter identification of nonlinear systems described by Hammerstein model having asymmetric static nonlinearities known as preload nonlinearity characteristic. The simultaneous use of both an easy decomposition technique and the generalized orthonormal bases leads to a particular form of Hammerstein model containing a minimal parameters number. The employ ...

Making use of the Volterra approach, black box modeling is applied to a large scale analog circuitry for an ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line) central office application. Reducing the number of free parameters through special assumptions on the Volterra kernels, one ends up with the Hammerstein model. Taking the first few taps of the Volterra kernels and approximating the last taps throu...

In this paper, the nonlinear lattice-Hammerstein filter and its properties are derived. It is shown that the error signals are orthogonal to the input signal and also backward errors of different stages are orthogonal to each other. Numerical results confirm all the theoretical properties of the lattice-Hammerstein structure.

This paper treats the identification of nonlinear systems that consist of a cascade of a linear channel and a nonlinearity, such as the well-known Wiener and Hammerstein systems. In particular, we follow a supervised identification approach that simultaneously identifies both parts of the nonlinear system. Given the correct restrictions on the identification problem, we show how kernel canonica...

We discuss the modelling of dielectric responses of amorphous biological samples. Such samples are commonly encountered in impedance spectroscopy studies as well as in UV, IR, optical and THz transient spectroscopy experiments and in pump-probe studies. In many occasions, the samples may display quenched absorption bands. A systems identification framework may be developed to provide parsimonio...

In this paper, a new model-based proportional–integral–derivative (PID) tuning and controller approach is introduced for Hammerstein systems that are identified on the basis of the observational input/output data. The nonlinear static function in the Hammerstein system is modelled using a B-spline neural network. The control signal is composed of a PID controller, together with a correction ter...

This article presents a new multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) constrained discrete-time modeling (DTM) approach for dynamic block-oriented processes that does not require the nonlinear steady state characteristics to be known prior to model development. This approach uses an efficient statistical experimental design to provide design points for sequential step tests. The DTM is developed f...
