This paper examines compatibility of some existing understandings of morality with the likely phenomenon of increasing human-robot interaction (HRI) in the United States. Particularly for cases involving autonomous humanoid robots, it is argued that impacts of HRI may differ dramatically as a function of the received understandings of morality encountered.
background one common challenge to social systems is achieving equity in financial contributions and preventing financial loss. because of the large and unpredictable nature of some costs, achieving this goal in the health system presents important and unique problems. the present study investigated the household financial contributions (hfcs) to the health system. methods the study investiga...
We present a novel interaction paradigm for the visual exploration, manipulation and analysis of human-robot interaction (HRI) rules; our development is implemented using a visual programming interface and exploits key techniques drawn from both information visualization and visual data mining to facilitate the interaction design and knowledge discovery process. HRI is often concerned with mani...
BACKGROUND Assessing multiple traditional risk factors improves prediction for late-life diseases, including coronary heart disease (CHD). It appears that non-traditional risk factors can also predict risk. The objective was to investigate contributions of non-traditional risk factors to coronary heart disease risk using a deficit accumulation approach. METHODS Community-dwelling adults with ...
background and aims: air pollution is one of the health problems worldwide. previous epidemiological studies have investigated the impacts of air pollution on respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. the aim of this study was to determine the associations between air pollution levels and different health indicators among world countries. methods: this ecological study was performed in 2013 by u...
Investigating emotional processes has been vital for understanding human-human interaction. Specifically, concepts of oneself and interaction partners shape style are associated with mental health cognitive performance. Whether these equally relevant in human-robot (HRI) not investigated. Here, we measured before after collaboration a telepresent robot described as (a) able, (b) unable to exper...
Abstract Knowledge production within the interdisciplinary field of human–robot interaction (HRI) with social robots has accelerated, despite continued fragmentation research domain. Together, these features make it hard to remain at forefront or assess collective evidence pertaining specific areas, such as role emotions in HRI. This systematic review state-of-the-art into humans’ recognition a...
The essential component of studying how humans and robots relate is to observe they interact with each other. This fact has been taken for granted until the COVID-19 pandemic made all such HRI study-based interactions verboten. We address question research can continue in an environment where physical distancing most effective approach containing spread disease. In this paper we present a pilot...
Substantial work has been published in visual servoing over the years, yet we have seen few real world applications. We discuss four different milestones (human robot interaction (HRI), tracking, multi-view geometry and visual servoing) needed to bring visual servoing into an unstructured human environment. We focus our efforts on HRI and tracking which we think are the link to bring visual ser...
