Let F be a field and let N be a matroid in a class N of F-representable matroids that is closed under minors and the taking of duals. Then N is an F-stabilizer for N if every representation of a 3-connected member of N is determined up to elementary row operations and column scaling by a representation of any one of its N-minors. The study of stabilizers was initiated by Whittle. This paper ext...

We define and show how to construct nonbinary quantum stabilizer codes. Our approach is based on nonbinary error bases. It generalizes the relationship between selforthogonal codes over F4 and binary quantum codes to one between selforthogonal codes over Fq2 and q-ary quantum codes for any prime power q. Index Terms — quantum stabilizer codes, nonbinary quantum codes, selforthogonal codes.

The Gottesman-Knill theorem says that a stabilizer circuit—that is, a quantum circuit consisting solely of controlled-NOT (CNOT), Hadamard, and phase gates—can be simulated efficiently on a classical computer. This paper improves that theorem in several directions. First, by removing the need for Gaussian elimination, we make the simulation algorithm much faster at the cost of a factor of 2 inc...

In this study, the pH of mulberry juice was optimized for high anthocyanin content and an attractive red color. Mulberry juice pH values of 2.5, 4.0, 6.0, and 8.0 were evaluated. A pH of 2.5 gave an anthocyanin content of 541.39 ± 106.43 mg of cyanidin-3-glucoside per liter, and the a* value was 14 ± 1.00. The effects of stabilizers (CMC and xanthan gum) on the physical characteristics of cloud...

In this paper, we begin exploring the construction of algebraic codes from toric varieties using toric residues. Though algebraic codes have been constructed from toric varieties, they have all been evaluation codes, where one evaluates the sections of a line bundle at a collection of rational points. In the present paper, instead of evaluating sections of a line bundle at rational points, we c...

We initiate the study of quantum Locally Testable Codes (qLTCs). We provide a definition to-gether with a simplification, denoted sLTCs, for the special case of stabilizer codes, and providesome basic results using those definitions. The most crucial parameter of such codes is their sound-ness, R(δ), namely, the probability that a randomly chosen constraint is violated as a func...

A new G-quadruplex (GQ) stabilizer, [Pt(Dip)2](PF6)2 (Dip: 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline), is prepared by the microwave irradiation method. The complex can highly stabilize G-quadruplex, but has negligible interactions with duplex DNA. Aromatic anchors on the polypyridyl ligands bestow the stabilizer with a high binding preference towards parallel GQ.

Cell extracts of the JM and GA strains of Marek's disease herpesvirus and the FC 126 strain of turkey herpesvirus were lyophilized with various stabilizers. Much higher virus titers were obtained with stabilizer than without stabilizer. Titers increased even further in the case of the Marek's disease virus strains by the addition of a chelating agent, disodium ethylenediaminetetraacetate.
