The paper shows that the global resolution of a general convex quadratic program with complementarity constraints (QPCC), possibly infeasible or unbounded, can be accomplished in finite time. The method constructs a minmax mixed integer formulation by introducing finitely many binary variables, one for each complementarity constraint. Based on the primal-dual relationship of a pair of convex qu...

The inexact primal-dual interior point method which is discussed in this paper chooses a new iterate along an approximation to the Newton direction. The method is the Kojima, Megiddo, and Mizuno globally convergent infeasible interior point algorithm The inexact variation is shown to have the same convergence properties accepting a residual in both the primal and dual Newton step equation also ...

We present a method to find static path exclusions in a control flow graph in order to refine the WCET analysis. Using this information, some infeasible paths can be discarded during the ILP-based longest path analysis which helps to improve precision. The new analysis works at the assembly level and uses the Omega library to evaluate Presburger formulas.

For a typical software system, it is generally considered infeasible to calculate system reliability from the reliabilities of its constituent components because software systems, unlike hardware systems, tend to violate the underlying independence assumptions inherent in the usual reliability calculations. In this paper, we present new method for calculating the system reliability from its con...

In this paper, we propose a new genetic algorithm based on the two-dimensional encoding method. Appropriate two-dimensional crossover and mutation operations are designed based on the two-dimensional representation to generate the next generations. A twodimensional repairing mechanism is also proposed to adjust infeasible chromosomes into feasible ones. Experiments are finally made to show the ...

A method to ensure recursive feasibility and asymptotic stability for a distributed model predictive control scheme in case of temporary communication failure is presented. The considered networks are made up of dynamically uncoupled nonlinear systems, coupled through constraints and objectives. The proposed method substitutes affected coupling constraints in such a way that the scheme can not ...

Semismooth Newton methods constitute a major research area for solving mixed complementarity problems (MCPs). Early research on semismooth Newton methods is mainly on infeasible methods. However, some MCPs are not well defined outside the feasible region or the equivalent unconstrained reformulations of other MCPs contain local minimizers outside the feasible region. As both these problems coul...

This paper proposes a streamlined form of simplex method which provides some great benefits over traditional simplex method. For instance, it does not need any kind of artificial variables or artificial constraints; it could start with any feasible or infeasible basis of an LP. This method follows the same pivoting sequence as of simplex phase 1 without showing any explicit description of artif...

We investigate a modi ed Cholesky algorithm typical of those used in most interiorpoint codes for linear programming. Cholesky-based interior-point codes are popular for three reasons: their implementation requires only minimal changes to standard sparse Cholesky algorithms (allowing us to take full advantage of software written by specialists in that area); they tend to be more e cient than co...
