We prove convergence of discrete duality finite volume (DDFV) schemes on distorted meshes for a class of simplified macroscopic bidomain models of the electrical activity in the heart. Both time-implicit and linearised time-implicit schemes are treated. A short description is given of the 3D DDFV meshes and of some of the associated discrete calculus tools. Several numerical tests are presented.

in this article, we consider the uniqueness of the difference monomials $f^{n}(z)f(z+c)$. suppose that $f(z)$ and $g(z)$ are transcendental meromorphic functions with finite order and $e_k(1, f^{n}(z)f(z+c))=e_k(1, g^{n}(z)g(z+c))$. then we prove that if one of the following holds (i) $n geq 14$ and $kgeq 3$, (ii) $n geq 16$ and $k=2$, (iii) $n geq 22$ and $k=1$, then $f(z)equiv t_1g(z)$ or $f(...

A time-scale varying finite difference method (TSFDM) was proposed to analyze the influence of rainfall infiltration and water level fluctuation on stability a bank slope in Yunnan Pulang tailings pond. The obtained by TSFDM limit equilibrium (LEM) were compared. result indicates that can obtain reliable spatiotemporal variation features geotechnical parameters under different conditions. has g...

In this paper we present the impact of hot wire geometry and fluid characteristics on the efficiency of a hot wire to be used as a wall shear stress sensor. Finite differences and finite elements modelling based simulators were used in order to evaluate the thermal performances of hot wire wall shear stress sensor. Several structures were explored including simple conductor or suspended above a...

A function on a discrete group is weakly combable if its discrete derivative with respect to a combing can be calculated by a finite state automaton. A weakly combable function is bicombable if it is Lipschitz in both the left and right invariant word metrics. Examples of bicombable functions on word-hyperbolic groups include (1) homomorphisms to Z (2) word length with respect to a finite gener...

We give a new analysis of Petrov-Galerkin finite element methods for solving linear singularly perturbed two-point boundary value problems without turning points. No use is made of finite difference methodology such as discrete maximum principles, nor of asymptotic expansions. On meshes which are either arbitrary or slightly restricted, we derive energy norm and L norm error bounds. These bound...

A finite element method for the 1-periodic Korteweg-de Vries equation "t + 2uux + "xxx = ° is analyzed. We consider first a semidiscrete method (i.e., discretization only in the space variable), and then we analyze some unconditionally stable fully discrete methods. In a special case, the fully discrete methods reduce to twelve point finite difference schemes (three time levels) which have seco...
