Serial (femtosecond) crystallography at synchrotron and X-ray free-electron laser (XFEL) sources distributes the absorbed radiation dose over all crystals used for data collection and therefore allows measurement of radiation damage prone systems, including the use of microcrystals for room-temperature measurements. Serial crystallography relies on fast and efficient exchange of crystals upon X...

We have experimentally extracted the virtual-source electron injection velocity, vx0, of various III-V HFETs at room temperature. This is the carrier velocity that matters for logic applications of these transistors. Sub-100 nm devices with μn > 10,000 cm/V-s exhibit vx0 in excess of 3 × 10 cm/s even at VDD = 0.5 V. This is over 2 times that of state-of-the-art Si devices at VDD > 1. We have ve...

In this paper, the influence of initial momentum and the injection angle of electron in to the magnetized plasma in a laser wake-field accelerator have been studied. It has been seen that the use of external magnetic field in the opposite direction of laser pulse propagation leads to an increase in the wake-field amplitude and a decrease in laser pulse group velocity in comparison to the use of ...

The project was related to microchip application where adhesive fluid is used stick the onto electrical flat base. In this project, 5mm of width and length with 3 different types solder ball diameter sizes are in project. objective study flow pattern velocity during injection based on decided parameters, which initial velocity, viscosity, ball. Each parameter that has been set produces a outcom...

In eight patients undergoing carotid endarterectomy, the mean velocity and an index of pulse amplitude in the middle cerebral artery were monitored continuously by transcranial doppler ultrasound. rCBF was measured by intracarotid injection of 133 Xenon shortly before and at the time of the carotid artery occlusion, and again a few minutes after carotid flow was reestablished. Comparison of the...

BACKGROUND Short-term diabetes causes sensory disorders in rats ranging from thermal hypoalgesia to exaggerated behavioral responses to other sensory stimuli. As impaired neurotrophic support may promote sensory nerve disorders during diabetes, the authors investigated whether TX14(A), a neurotrophic peptide derived from prosaposin, was able to ameliorate nerve disorders in diabetic rats. MET...

Inverse modeling of state-of-the-art NMOSFETs is used to investigate electron transport models and in particular to extract the effective velocity of electron injection from source to channel. It is found that this velocity is less than 50% of the maximum possible velocity, i.e. the thermal velocity of electrons in the source. Based on the Landauer formulation, as adapted by Lundstrom to silico...

abstract in the present article, effective parameters of the buoyant jets have been evaluated in the stagnant ambient fluid. the jet parameters, geometry parameters and environmental parameters are investigated. using dimensional analysis, a set of dimensionless functions was obtained. to achieve the exact functions, a physical model was built in the hydraulic laboratory of shahid chamran unive...

We study a 2D and a 3D incompressible magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) channel flow, also known as Hartmann flow, which is electrically conducting and subject to an external transverse magnetic field. We consider periodic boundary condition along one axis (two axis, for the three-dimensional case). We consider the flow at low magnetic Reynolds number and obtain the so-called simplified magnetohydrodyn...

Matter accreting onto black holes may develop shocks due to the centrifugal barrier. A part of inflowing matter in the post-shock flow is deflected along the axis in the form of jets. Post-shock flow which behaves like a Compton cloud has ‘hot’ electrons emiting high energy photons. We study the effect of these ‘hot’ photons on the outflowing matter. Radiation from this region could accelerate ...
