The formal conception of computation (FCC) holds that computational processes are not sensitive to semantic properties. FCC is popular, but it faces well-known difficulties. Accordingly, authors such as Block and Peacocke pursue a ‘semantically-laden’ alternative, according to which computation can be sensitive to semantics. I argue that computation is insensitive to semantics within a wide ran...

A tubeless siphon was created by sucking a 1% aqueous Polyox† solution laden with particles from a beaker into a cylinder by moving a piston. The piston speed and particle concentration were varied. At very high rates of withdrawal, all the liquid could be removed before the siphon broke. In this case, the beaker was completely cleaned without a trace of liquid. The addition of small concentrat...

it is not possible to understand developments of a country’s culture and civilization without knowing his believes and myths. whether it is north or south, east or west, planes or mountains, sahara or deserts, here in iran every corner includes valuable and precious treasures which are known all over the world, and cultural – historical objects which are found here adorn all well known museums of the globe. zagros mountains, lorestan province locating at the heart of that, are not only the same, but are more prominent than other iranian regions. you can not find someone who does not know what the lorestani bronzes are, and there is no museum that not be pride of having a piece of that. the said bronzes which are manufactured four millenniums b.c. are admired nearly by all those researchers because of their beauty, diversity and technique. lorestani artistic works including stone engraves, bronzes and clays, show an ideal and metaphysical world beside real world which explain mental system of human beings on that era against sensations and phenomena happening around them. men main mental occupation on that time was he unknown world which had surrounded them, and they used to use the religion to fight life’s natural factors, and art was a tool of religious and mythical painting which was far from reality and had entered into the abstract domain. as natural objects have become subjects of lorestani art, it cleanses them from any non – intrinsic limitations and external factors which surround them and darken their meanings, and just shows their main specifications. artist in the said civilization is not searching for realism. although these are few works showing the nature, but in effect there is no wish to imitate touchable factors of the nature, and artist has turned real phenomena to encoded signs as per his own mentality. this procedure is called stylization.

In this paper, the sediment-laden flow around a circular cylinder is numerically simulated in order to obtain better understanding of hydrodynamics associated. A range of cases with different Reynolds numbers (Re) are studies. The effects of the concentration of the sediment on the drag coefficient are investigated. Results show that due to the fact that the laden sand particle colliding the cy...

In this article, we define a new class of graphs, the fat-extended P4-laden graphs, and we show a polynomial time algorithm to determine the Grundy number of the graphs in this class. This result implies that the Grundy number can be found in polynomial time for any graph of the following classes: P4-reducible, extended P4-reducible, P4-sparse, extended P4-sparse, P4-extendible, P4-lite, P4-tid...

Microbes are known to affect ecosystems and communities as decomposers, pathogens, and mutualists. However, they also may function as classic consumers and competitors with animals if they chemically deter larger consumers from using rich food-falls such as carrion, fruits, and seeds that can represent critical windfalls to both microbes and animals. Microbes often use chemicals (i.e., antibiot...
