If a matrix effect is detected during the validation stage of an analytical method, the standard addition methodology must be applied. To reach a good estimation of the uncertainty associated with the determination, an adequate identification and evaluation of each uncertainty source should be done. As an example to illustrate how to calculate the uncertainty in this case, the simultaneous dete...

In the past few decades, there is increasing trend to use products from natural resources. Dyes obtained from natural sources are among such products. The present research mainly focuses on optimization of extraction conditions during a natural dye extraction from the flower petals of a tree ‘Flame of Forest’. Taguchi technique was employed for optimization of the parameters namely raw dyestuff...

The basic features and most salient examples of flow-through chemical and biochemical sensors based on the integration of derivative analytical reactions, separation processes (dialysis, gas diffusion, sorption, liquid-liquid extraction) and detection (optical, electroanalytical, mass, thermal) are presented and discussed, and critically compared with those of probe-type sensors and conventiona...

QuEChERS stands for Quick, Easy, Cheap, Effective, Rugged, and Safe. This method is widely used to determine pesticides and was first introduced in 2003. Anastassiades and colleagues first introduced this method in 2003 to extract veterinary drugs from animal tissue [1]. Toxicology samples in forensic medicine are usually analyzed by Liquid-Liquid extraction (LLE) and solid phase extraction (SP...

In this paper, a new simple and effective method based on dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction procedure is proposed for rapid and simultaneous separation and preconcentration of ultra trace amounts of benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene and xylenes (BTEX) in non-alcoholic Beer samples. In this experiment, a glass syringe was used as extraction unit. With this simple configuration, the centrifu...

The study of colour and colour precursors in cane sugar has been an important research area at Sugar Processing Research Institute for many years. Previous studies on isolating colourant precursors have relied on various liquid-liquid extraction procedures, time consuming methods requiring large amounts of sample and solvent. Four methods were examined for the identification of raw sugar colour...

abstract mefenamic acid is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (nsaid) that has analgesic,anti-infammatory and antipyretic actions. it is used to relieve mild to moderate pains. solid-phase extraction of mefenamic acid by a polymer grafted to silica gel is reported . poly allyl glycidyl ether/iminodiacetic acid-co-n, n-dimethylacrylamide was synthesized and grafted to silica gel and was used ...

Novel dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME), coupled with high performance liquid chromatography with photodiode array detection (HPLC-DAD) has been applied for the extraction and determination of cyproheptadine (CPH), an antihistamine, in human urine samples. In this method, 0.6 mL of acetonitrile (disperser solvent) containing 30 µL of carbon tetrachloride (extraction solvent) was ...
