بسیاری از نرم تنان آب شیرین در انتقال انگلهایی که دارای اهمیت پزشکی-دامپزشکی می باشند. نقش دارند. بدین لحاظ اکثر منابع آب شیرین سیستان و بلوچستان از نظر حلزونهای ناقل (احتمالی) مورد بررسی قرار گرفتند. چهارده مورد حلزون شامل 2 جنس و 12 گونه ضمن 3 حلزون یابی در دهه 1370 جمع آوری شدند. دو نوع حلزونIndoplanorbis و Lymnaea rufescens به عنوان گونه های جدید برای بلوچستان ایران گزارش میشود.
