Euclidean norm calculations arise frequently in scientific and engineering applications. Several approximations for this norm with differing complexity and accuracy have been proposed in the literature. Earlier approaches [1, 2, 3] were based on minimizing the maximum error. Recently, Seol and Cheun [4] proposed an approximation based on minimizing the average error. In this paper, we first exa...
In laboratory practice, there are many protein quantification methods, and all of them have their own advantages disadvantages. The most common widely used method for the analysis in food products, including fish, is Kjeldahl method. However, current standards measurement methods determination content fish products do not provide use devices that meet modern level technical development, also co...
Recent studies suggest that the minimum error entropy (MEE) criterion can outperform the traditional mean square error criterion in supervised machine learning, especially in nonlinear and non-Gaussian situations. In practice, however, one has to estimate the error entropy from the samples since in general the analytical evaluation of error entropy is not possible. By the Parzen windowing appro...
The Iranian poultry sector has experienced many significant structural changes in recent years. Such changes may have influenced price dynamics and transmission of shocks through marketing channels especially on retail markets. This paper investigate price transmission, threshold behavior and asymmetric adjustment in poultry sector of Ardebil (AR), east Azerbaijan (EA) and west Azerbaijan (WA) ...
to assess seismic hazard, it is essential to estimate the potential seismicity, particularly estimation of size of the largest earthquake that can be identified by a distinct fault or earthquake source. one of the methods applied to estimate magnitude of earthquake is use of empirical relationships between magnitude and fault parameters. fault parameters for the earthquakes from early instrumen...
9.953 GHz phase-modulated continuous-wave laser combs are spectrally broadened via nonlinear propagation in normal and anomalous dispersion media and experimentally characterized using a differential phase shift keying (DPSK) decoder. DPSK bit-error rate data are in qualitative agreement with radio-frequency spectrum analyzer measurements.
