a new solution aiming at coal biodesulphurization has been developed based on the use of bacteria. the most frequently used species of bacteria for removal of inorganic sulphur compounds are thiobacillus ferrooxidans, thiobacillus thiooxidans and thiobacillus acidophilus. in this study the coal sample was decomposed initially and desulphurization experiments was carried out in pure and mixed cu...

Microbiological examination of food is one the most important control processes in production and trade. In that way, we provide safe on market, but also consumption foods prevention diseases can be transmitted by contaminated with microorganisms. The aim this study was to examine microbiological status minced meat preparations period from years 2014 2020. examinations included Salmonella spp.,...

The collection of 621 strains of aerobic mesophilic sporeforming bacteria studied by Smith, Gordon, and Clark (1946) included 8 strains that grew slowly, if at all, at 28 C and required a higher temperature than the others for maximum growth. They were closely related and as a group were distinguishable in several respects from the other species. Pending the investigation of more strains the 8 ...

Pseudonocardia dioxanivorans CB1190 is the first bacterium reported to be capable of growth on the environmental contaminant 1,4-dioxane and the first member of the genus Pseudonocardia for which there is an annotated genome sequence. Preliminary analysis of the genome (chromosome and three plasmids) indicates that strain CB1190 possesses several multicomponent monooxygenases that could be invo...

Celeribacter sp. strain TSPH2, a novel producer of indigo, was isolated from oil-contaminated sediment. We present here its genome sequence consisting of one circular chromosome (4 Mb) and one plasmid (0.15 Mb), with an overall G+C content of 60.9%. This strain contains oxygenase genes involved in indigo synthesis, such as flavin-containing monooxygenase.

Background: Consumption of raw cheese may be associated with different diseases. This study aimed to evaluate behavior of four pathogenic bacteria during manufacture and ripening of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Pecorino Siciliano cheese. Methods: The experimental cheese groups were inoculated with pathogenic bacteria, including Escherichia coli O157, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella...

The genome of Sphingobacterium sp. strain PM2-P1-29 was sequenced. The bacterium contains a physiologically active tet(X) gene, encoding a tetracycline-degrading monooxygenase. To our knowledge, this is the only bacterium naturally harboring tet(X) for which tetracycline degradation has been demonstrated.
