This study is aimed to explore the toxicity of TiO2 nanoparticles at low concentrations (0.25, 0.50 & 1.00 μg/ml); on five bacterial isolates and their consortium in waste water medium both in dark and UVA conditions. To critically examine the toxic effects of nanoparticles and the response mechanism(s) offered by microbes, several aspects were monitored viz. cell viability, ROS generation, SOD...

Here we present preprocessed MRI data of 265 participants from the Consortium for Neuropsychiatric Phenomics (CNP) dataset. The preprocessed dataset includes minimally preprocessed data in the native, MNI and surface spaces accompanied with potential confound regressors, tissue probability masks, brain masks and transformations. In addition the preprocessed dataset includes unthresholded group ...

Background: Populations of Magnaporthe, the causal agent of rice blast disease, are pathotypically and genetically diverse and therefore their interaction with different rice cultivars and also antagonistic microorganisms are very complicated. Objectives: The objectives of the present study were to characterize phylogenetic relationships of 114 native  Magnaporthe strains, isolated from rice a...

Alcanivorax sp. strain 97CO-6 was isolated from a crude oil-consuming bacterial consortium, enriched from Yellow Sea sediments from China. Here, we present the draft genome of strain 97CO-6, which contains 3,253,423 bp, with a G+C content of 54.53%, as well as 2,931 protein-coding genes and 42 tRNAs.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) biodegradation in contaminated sediment is an attractive remediation technique and its success depends on the optimal condition for the PAH-degrading isolates. The aims of the current study was to isolate and identify PAHs-degrading bacteria from surface sediments of Nayband Bay and to evaluate the efficiency of statistically based experimental design for...

The presence of multicomponent nonaqueous-phase liquids (NAPLs) on contaminated sites critically alters the biodegradation susceptibility of many target pollutants, including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. This study investigated the effects of petroleum-derived multicomponent NAPLs on biodegradation of benzo[a]pyrene by a bacterial consortium in liquid culture. When high-boiling point diese...

Sphingobium sp. strain KK22 was isolated from a bacterial consortium that originated from cattle pasture soil from Texas. Strain KK22 grows on phenanthrene and has been shown to biotransform the high-molecular-weight (HMW) polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) benz[a]anthracene. The genome of strain KK22 was sequenced to investigate the genes involved in aromatic pollutant biotransformation.
