The additive hazards model has many applications in high-throughput genomic data analysis and clinical studies. In this article, we study the weighted Lasso estimator for the additive hazards model in sparse, high-dimensional settings where the number of time-dependent covariates is much larger than the sample size. Based on compatibility, cone invertibility factors, and restricted eigenvalues ...

We consider a high dimensional regression model with a possible change point due to a covariate threshold and develop the lasso estimator of regression coefficients as well as the threshold parameter. Our lasso estimator not only selects covariates but also selects a model between linear and threshold regression models. Under a sparsity assumption, we derive non-asymptotic oracle inequalities f...

Penalized estimation has become an established tool for regularization and model selection in regression models. A variety of penalties with specific features are available and effective algorithms for specific penalties have been proposed. But not much is available to fit models with a combination of different penalties. When modeling the rent data of Munich as in our application, various type...

Motivation: Exploring the genetic basis of heritable traits remains one of the central challenges in biomedical research. In traits with simple mendelian architectures, single polymorphic loci explain a significant fraction of the phenotypic variability. However, many traits of interest appear to be subject to multifactorial control by groups of genetic loci. Accurate detection of such multivar...

MOTIVATION Classification and feature selection of genomics or transcriptomics data is often hampered by the large number of features as compared with the small number of samples available. Moreover, features represented by probes that either have similar molecular functions (gene expression analysis) or genomic locations (DNA copy number analysis) are highly correlated. Classical model selecti...

We devise a one-shot approach to distributed sparse regression in the high-dimensional setting. The key idea is to average " debiased " or " desparsified " lasso estimators. We show the approach converges at the same rate as the lasso as long as the dataset is not split across too many machines. We also extend the approach to generalized linear models.

Introduction: Identification of the factors related to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in children and adolescents help us to know appropriate methods for prevention and control of chronic diseases. Methods: This cross-sectional and analytic study comprised 962 children and adolescents, aged 6-18 years, in Isfahan in 2008. Variables related to life style and metabolic syndromes related...
