We study degenerate curves in pseudo-Euclidean spaces of index two by introducing the Cartan reference along a degenerate curve. We obtain several different types of degenerate curves and present existence, uniqueness and congruence theorems. We also give some examples of such a curves in low dimensions.
BACKGROUND National guidelines recommend the use of secondary prevention modalities for patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD) and coronary artery disease. The effect of prior PAD on the treatment and outcomes of patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS), however, is not well characterized. The objectives of this study were to assess treatment practices and hospital outcomes in patien...
background: the relationships between adiponectin and clinical outcomes in hemodialysis (hd) patients remain highly controversial. meanwhile, the association between adiponectin and the peripheral artery disease (pad) has not been well studied in hd patients without diabetic mellitus. materials and methods: the ankle-brachial index was measured in hd patients. adiponectin levels in 105 hd patie...
(This is part 2, continued from “Use of harsh Wafer Probing to Evaluate Traditional Bond Pad Structures”). Goals for circuit under pad (CUP) in aluminum – silicon dioxide (Al – SiO2) based IC pad structures include the design of metal interconnects in all layers beneath the pad Al, and the ability to withstand harsh probing and wirebonding stress without SiO2 cracking, without deforming or bend...
Background: Periampullary duodenal diverticulum (PAD) is associated with increased incidence of biliary pathology presumably due to dysfunction of the sphincter of Oddi and ascending bacterial infection from the duodenum. Aim: to compare ERCP performance characteristics and outcomes in patients with (study group) and without PAD (control group). Materials and Methods: This is retrospective coho...
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a known predictor of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality among hemodialysis patients. Although ankle-brachial BP index (ABI) is a simple and reliable test for PAD screening, its sensitivity has been suggested to decrease among dialysis patients. DESIGN, SETTING, PARTICIPANTS, & MEASUREMENTS We performed a cross-sectional outpat...
Background: Peripheral arterial disease is known to be associated with the diabetes and ankle-brachial pressure index (ABPI) can be used to screen such patients having PAD. Aims & Objective: To highlight the application of ankle brachial pressure index as a routine procedure and to assess the feasibility of using ABPI in detecting PAD in the patients of diabetes mellitus. Material and Methods: ...
The article reviews the burden of peripheral artery disease (PAD) and its association with diabetes, renal dysfunction, inflammation, and anemia. PAD is a marker of advanced atherosclerotic disease and is associated with a poor quality of life, ischemic events, and mortality. Polyvascular involvement is often observed in PAD patients (pts), and contributes to the greater risk of all-cause and c...
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) affects 8 to 10 million Americans, and the incidence of PAD is expected to increase as the population ages. A high percentage of the PAD is undiagnosed prior to the onset of a serious cardiovascular event; therefore, the inability to screen and diagnose for PAD in the early stages could hinder efforts to decrease adverse consequences of cardiovascular disease. In...
