Abstract To focus on the interfacial reaction between Ag–Cu alloy layer and TiN in active metal brazing, brazed structures Cu two types of sintered ceramics fabricated by different methods were examined. No grain boundary phase components consisting Ni-containing Fe or Mo 2 C detected surfaces liquid-phase ceramic bonding before brazing. The specimens heated at 850 °C for 0.5 h. Cu/TiN solid-ph...

based on dynamic modeling, robust trajectory tracking control of attitude and position of a spherical mobile robot is proposed. in this paper, the spherical robot is composed of a spherical shell and three independent rotors which act as the inner driver mechanism. owing to rolling without slipping assumption, the robot is subjected to two nonholonomic constraints. the state space representatio...

the paper presents the semi-numerical solution for the magnetohydrodynamic (mhd) viscous flow due to a stretching sheet caused by boundary layer of an incompressible viscous flow. the governing partial differential equations of momentum equations are reduced into a nonlinear ordinary differential equation (node) by using a classical similarity transformation along with appropriate boundary cond...

In the present paper, turbulent convection of CuO-Water Nanofluid in a vertical channel is investigated numerically. In order to simulate the flow, the fluid is considered as a continuous phase while the discrete nanoparticles are dispersed through it. The dispersion of CuO nanoparticles in different flow conditions are studied in order to find the effective mechanisms of particles dispersion i...

The results of numerical simulations of two high-rate diamond growth environments (oxygenacetylene torch and dc arcjet) are reported. The calculations account in detail for boundary-layer transport, gas-phase chemistry, and gas-surface chemistry. Diamond growth rates are calculated self-consistently with the gas-phase concentrations, using a recently proposed methyl growth mechanism. The calcul...

A series of dye releases in the Hudson River estuary elucidated diapycnal mixing rates and temporal variability over tidal and fortnightly time scales. Dye was injected in the bottom boundary layer for each of four releases during different phases of the tide and of the spring–neap cycle. Diapycnal mixing occurs primarily through entrainment that is driven by shear production in the bottom boun...

The role of ground-based remote sensors in boundary-layer research is reviewed, emphasizing the contributions of radars, sodars, and lidars. The review begins with a brief comparison of the state of remote sensors in boundary-layer research 25 years ago with its present-day status. Next, a summary of the current capabilities of remote sensors for boundary-layer studies demonstrates that for bou...

A high-resolution large-eddy simulation model has been used to investigate the effect of scale in surface inhomogeneities on the turbulence structure of the convective boundary layer (CBL). Surface heat fluxes were varied sinusoidally in two dimensions with wavelengths of 250,500 and 1000 m, corresponding to about 0.27 zI, 0.55 zi and l . l z i (zi is the boundary layer depth). The geostrophic ...
