BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB) is a common and often serious complication after stroke. Although several risk factors for post-stroke GIB have been identified, no reliable or validated scoring system is currently available to predict GIB after acute stroke in routine clinical practice or clinical trials. In the present study, we aimed to develop and validate a risk model (acute isch...
Combining intuitive probabilistic assumptions with the basic laws of classical thermodynamics, using latter to express parameters in terms thermodynamic quantities, we get a simple unified derivation fundamental ensembles statistical physics avoiding any limiting procedures, quantum hypothesis and even entropy maximization. This point view also leads some related classes correlated particle sta...
The energy equation for turbulent flow of fiber suspensions was derived in terms of second order correlation tensors. Fiber motion of turbulent energy including the correlation between pressure fluctuations and velocity fluctuations was discussed at two points of flow field, at which the correlation tensors were the functions of space coordinates, distance between two points, and time.
We prove rigorous lower and upper bounds for the mass gap of the ferromagnetic spin 1/2 XXZ chain. The two bounds coincide asymptotically in the Ising limit ∆ → ∞. Near the isotropic point, ∆ = 1, the estimates are good enough to determine the critical behaviour of the mass gap unambiguously. The derivation does not rely on exact solutions.

This paper presents the derivation of the model for a high-precision positioning system using magnetic levitation, which is achieved by an arrangement of Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motors. LQR set-point stabilization is performed as an introduction to the more advanced nonlinear control design presented in [9].
This paper focuses on the derivation of diagonally implicit two-point block backward differentiation formulas DI2BBDF for solving first-order initial value problem IVP with two fixed points. The method approximates the solution at two points simultaneously. The implementation and the stability of the proposed method are also discussed. A performance of the DI2BBDF is compared with the existing ...
let $mathfrak{a}$ be an algebra. a linear mapping $delta:mathfrak{a}tomathfrak{a}$ is called a textit{derivation} if $delta(ab)=delta(a)b+adelta(b)$ for each $a,binmathfrak{a}$. given two derivations $delta$ and $delta'$ on a $c^*$-algebra $mathfrak a$, we prove that there exists a derivation $delta$ on $mathfrak a$ such that $deltadelta'=delta^2$ if and only if either $delta'=0$...
Halpern and Huang recently showed that there are relevant directions in the space of interactions at the Gaussian fixed point. I show that their result can be derived from Polchinski's form of the Wilson renormalization group. The derivation shows that the existence of these directions is independent of the cutoff function used.
As a first approach to a derivation of the IBM from a microscopic nuclear hamiltonian, we bosonize the pairing hamiltonian in the framework of the path integral formalism respecting both the particle number conservation and the Pauli principle. We construct the saddle point expansion which reproduces the sector of the spectrum associated to the addition or removal of nucleon pairs.
