In this paper, we present the calibration results of the NASA/JPL Airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (AIRSAR) for the Pacific Rim II mission. We also demonstrate the key elements of the calibration techniques for both polarimetric SAR (POLSAR) and cross-track interferometric SAR (TOPSAR) processed with the AIRSAR Integrated Processor.

In this paper, we introduce two new families of probability density functions (PDFs) for the polarimetric target vector and covariance matrix. These families complete the diagram spanned by the second and third-order matrix log-cumulants of the data, and contribute to a holistic theory for statistical modeling of Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) data based on the Spherically Invar...

Polarimetric image classification is sensitive to object orientation and scattering properties. This paper is a preliminary step to bridge the gap between visible wavelength polarimetric imaging and polarimetric SAR (POLSAR) imaging scattering mechanisms. In visible wavelength polarimetric imaging, the degree of linear polarization (DOLP) is widely used to represent the polarized component of t...

Fully polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) has the advantage for working at all time and all weather compared with optical remote sensing. It can provide four channel data, including HH, HV, VH, and VV, which is usually called sinclair matrix. The sinclair matrix can be used to describe the relative pure targets. Concerning to the distributed targets, it is necessary to use coherence ...

The interpretation of multidimensional Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data often requires expert knowledge. In fact, it to simultaneously consider several time series polarimetric features understand the physical changes a target and its temporal evolution. To characterise over time, Multitemporal Polarimetric SAR (MTPolSAR) change detection has been introduced in literature [1] [2]. However, p...

Ship detection based on synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery is one of the key applications for maritime security. Compared with single-channel SAR images, polarimetric (PolSAR) data contains fully-polarized information, which better facilitates discriminating between targets, sea clutter, and interference. Therefore, many ship methods scattering mechanism have been studied. To deal false ala...

Polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (POLSAR) systems provide high resolution images containing polarimetric information. So, they have capability in land cover classification. In this work, a binary coding-based polarimetric-morphological (BCPM) feature extraction is proposed for POLSAR image At first, set of features proposed. Then, new morphological framework introduced contextual from the ...

For wide application of change detection with SAR imagery, current processing technologies and methods are mostly based on pixels. It is difficult for pixel-based technologies to utilize spatial characteristics of images and topological relations of objects. Object-oriented technology takes objects as processing unit, which takes advantage of the shape and texture information of image. It can g...
