We report the observation of electromagnetically induced phase matching in collisionally broadened Pb vapor. At a critical intensity at which the Rabi frequency of a dressing 1064-nm laser overcomes the Doppler broadening of the vapor, the generated four-frequency-mixing signal at 283 nm increases in a steplike manner by a factor of 59.

We study counterintuitive dynamics of a two-level system (TLS) interacting with electric field superoscillating in time. We show that a TLS may be excited by an external light pulse whose spectral components are below the absorption line of the TLS. We attribute this unique dynamics to the Rabi oscillations of the TLS in a superoscillating driving field.

Dissipative dynamics of a quantum bit driven by a strong resonant field and interacting with a heat bath is investigated. We derive generalized Bloch equations and find modifications of the qubit’s damping rates caused by Rabi oscillations. We present a new method for finding isolated exact solutions of a class of non-adiabatic Hamil-tonians of relevance to quantum optics and allied areas. Central to our approach is the use of Bogoliubov transformations of the bosonic fields in the models.
