The Saccharomyces cerevisiae SAGA complex is a multifunctional coactivator that regulates transcription by RNA polymerase II. The 3D structure of SAGA, revealed by electron microscopy, is formed by five modular domains and shows a high degree of structural conservation to human TFTC, reflecting their related subunit composition. The positions of several SAGA subunits were mapped by immunolabeli...
Brauer’s Problem 1 asks the following: what are the possible complex group algebras of finite groups? It seems that with the present knowledge of representation theory it is not possible to settle this question. The goal of this paper is to announce a partial solution to this problem. We conjecture that if the complex group algebra of a finite group does not have more than a fixed number m of i...
The multicatalytic proteinase (MCP) complex is a major nonlysosomal proteinase which plays an important role in non-lysosomal pathways of protein degradation and which has recently been implicated in antigen processing. The mammalian MCP complex is composed of more than 20 different types of polypeptide, but it is not yet clear which of these components are responsible for its proteolytic activ...
Anchoring the AIS in a well-defined ontology enhances an integrated approach and efficient implementation. This presupposes that the ontology chosen as a base is well-suited for domains such as business models and accounting systems. One alternative is to use a top level ontology which classifies the whole world, often starting with the abstract notion of a thing which encompasses everything [1...
In this note we prove the complex counterpart of the S-inequality for complete Reinhardt sets. In particular, this result implies that the complex S-inequality holds for unconditional convex sets. As a by-product we also obtain the S-inequality for the exponential measure in the unconditional case. 2010 Mathematics Subject Classification. Primary 60G15; Secondary 60E15.
Postsynaptic density protein 95 (PSD-95), a specialized scaffold protein with multiple protein interaction domains, forms the backbone of an extensive postsynaptic protein complex that organizes receptors and signal transduction molecules at the synaptic contact zone. Large, detergentinsoluble PSD-95-based postsynaptic complexes can be affinity-purified from conventional PSD fractions using mag...
Context. The star HD 87643, exhibiting the “B[e] phenomenon”, has one of the most extreme infrared excesses for this object class. It harbours a large amount of both hot and cold dust, and is surrounded by an extended reflection nebula. Aims. One of our major goals was to investigate the presence of a companion in HD87643. In addition, the presence of close dusty material was tested through a c...
