UNLABELLED Gene silencing activity of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulations of siRNA requires LNP surface factors promoting cellular uptake. This study aimed to identify small molecules that enhance cellular uptake of LNP siRNA systems, then use them as LNP-associated ligands to improve gene silencing potency. Screening the Canadian Chemical Biology Network molecules for effects on LNP uptake i...
We show that cationic nanoparticles encapsulated within vesicles of phosphocholine lipid can induce pearling. The dynamic process occurs as two stages: formation of tubular protrusions followed by pearling instability. The breakup into individual vesicles can be controlled by nanoparticle concentration.
The interactions between nanosized particles and living systems are commonly mediated by what adsorbs to the nanoparticle in the biological environment, its biomolecular corona, rather than the pristine surface. Here, we characterize the adhesion toward the cell membrane of nanoparticles of different material and size and study how this is modulated by the presence or absence of a corona on the...
This review aimed to inform about the magnetic nanoparticle functionalization and solid phase extraction application separate analytes in various types of samples. The was conducted by analyzing several articles published 2010 until 2021 obtained through search engines, such as Science Direct, Google Scholar PubMed, using keyword “magnetic extraction” nanoparticle”. can be functionalized with o...
To resolve handling problem of nanoparticles, due to their small size, a new methodology of electro-spraying and freeze-drying was developed for colloidal nanoparticles of silica and titania to transform them to solid macro-scale nanoparticle assemblies. The assemblies were then redispersed in an aqueous system to investigate the effect of formulation of original solutions and the process ...
The present review discusses the potential use of solid lipid nanoparticles for brain drug targeting purposes. The state of the art on surfactant-coated poly(alkylcyanoacrylate) nanoparticles specifically designed for brain targeting is given by emphasizing the transfer of this technology to solid lipid matrices. The available literature on solid lipid nanoparticles and related carriers for bra...
effects of heat-transferring property of silver nanoparticles were evaluated on two solid woods of poplar and fir and in combination with borax. nanosilver and borax were applied in pressure vessel using rueping method. the size range of silver nanoparticles was 20-80 nm. specimens of 150×130×9 mm were prepared and five fire-retarding properties were measured using a newly designed slide fire t...
Liposomes, particles composed of a thin bilayer shell surrounding an aqueous core, have recently gained attention as a potential biomedical tool for diagnostic or therapeutic use. Hybridizing liposomes with bound or encapsulated nanoparticles could extend their range of functionality, leading to applications including hyperthermia treatments. Though drug delivery remains one of the most promisi...
bioactive products from snail slime of “helix” specie have potential applications in preventing and/or treating several human diseases and in cancer diagnosis. however, the poor pharmacokinetics characteristics of these natural compounds limit their use. nanotechnology offers promising solutions for the enhanced formulation of these molecules through the synthesis of nanosized drug delivery sys...
