Through the use of non-destructive optical techniques to measure the surface with high accuracy, two shearing interferometers were implemented to analyze the slope of phase objects using simultaneous phase-shifting shearing interferometry [Toto et al., 2010]. These optical configurations allow obtaining n-shearograms simultaneously to retrieve the optical phase data map with higher accuracy [Ro...

a significant problem in multicarrier communication systems is the necessity to reduce the value of papr (peak-to-average power ratio) of transmitting signal. in this thesis we study the effect of the system parameters such as coding and modulation types on papr and ultimate ber in a mc-cdma system. in this study we consider fading channel as well as the nonlinearity of transmitter’s amplifier ...

Rotary disc contactor (RDC) has been widely used for liquid-liquid extraction owing to its advantages such as high operational flexibility, efficiency, throughput, as well as low driving power and capital cost. As a key variable in liquid-liquid extraction columns, hold-up has been discussed in the literature in three categories: static, dynamic and total hold-up.1 Static hold-up refers to that...

Quantum control in high-order-harmonic generation is considered theoretically by using a spatial distribution of static electric fields along the propagation direction of the driving field. It is shown that the trajectories of the electrons during its acceleration by the laser field in the high-harmonics-generation process can be controlled by periodically distributed static electric fields, wh...

The static potential in the confinement “phase” of the SU(2) Higgs model is studied. In particular, the observation of the screening (called string breaking) of the static quarks by the dynamical light quarks leading to the formation of two static-light mesons was not observed before my work in non-Abelian gauge theories. The tool that I employ is lattice gauge simulation. The observable from w...

We present results for the ground state and first excited state static potentials in the confinement " phase " of the SU(2) Higgs model. String breaking and the crossing of the energy levels are clearly visible. We address the question of the cutoff effects in our results and observe a remarkable scaling of the static potentials.

A novel method for assigning the resonances in the 13C NMR spectrum of a static liquid crystalline sample in its nematic phase is proposed. The method is based on the fact that the carbon chemical shifts in the isotropic phase and in the oriented phase under static and off-magic angle spinning (OMAS) conditions are uniquely related by the tensorial property of the CSA tensor, requiring just one...

The objective of this work is refinement of an MR angiography technique via postprocessing removal of phase errors which inhibit static signal subtraction. Projective views of the object are obtained using interleaved flow-compensated and noncompensated gradient waveforms. Complex subtraction of data sets is required since a projection dephase pulse is used for static signal suppression. This r...

Although most of the existing skyline queries algorithms focused basically on querying static points through static databases; with the expanding number of sensors, wireless communications and mobile applications, the demand for continuous skyline queries has increased. Unlike traditional skyline queries which only consider static attributes, continuous skyline queries include dynamic attribute...

It is shown through detailed inelastic neutron scattering experiments that the gapped collective magnetic excitation of the unconventional superconductor CeCoIn5, the spin resonance mode, is incommensurate and that the corresponding fluctuations are of an Ising nature. The incommensurate peak position of these fluctuations corresponds to the propagation vector of the adjacent field induced stat...
