Microcontact printing (mCP) is used to immobilize dyes and peptides asymmetrically, by a "peptide coupling" reaction, on monolayers of zeolite L crystals in the contact area between the stamp and the surface of the monolayer. Chemically patterned surfaces of monolayers of zeolite L crystals are obtained by using patterned stamps with different ink solutions. Additional printing of functionalize...

The properties of the bactericidal action of silver zeolite as affected by inorganic salts and ion chelators were similar to those of silver nitrate. The results suggest that the contact of the bacterial cell with silver zeolite, the consequent transfer of silver ion to the cell, and the generation of reactive oxygen species in the cell are involved in the bactericidal activity of silver zeolite.

Following the synthesis of aligned single-wall carbon nanotubes in the channels of AlPO4-5 zeolite single crystals, we present the first X-ray diffraction and diffuse scattering results. They can be analysed in terms of a partial filling of the zeolite channels by nanotubes with diameter around 4Å. The possible selection of only one type of nanotube during the synthesis, due to the constraints ...

In the first part of two section paper, a mathematical model of the fluidized bed reactor in the presence of in-situ water adsorbent for methanol synthesis is assessed. The bubbling two-phase regime is applied to model the fluidization concept. The binary adsorbent and catalyst particles system can be separated from each other based on their density difference. The heavy catalyst particles tend...

Clinoptilolite has been successfully used in growing media for containerized horticultural and floricultural production. However, limited data exist on the effects and interaction between particle size and organic nutrient enrichment of the clinoptilolite. One granular (1-3 mm) and micronized (<30 μm) clinoptilolite was added to quartz sand, an inert growing substrate, at two doses (0.1% and 3%...

Zeolite-based honeycomb rotors have been successfully used for VOC capture in various industries due to advantages of low pressure drop, fast response temperature swing desorption and outstanding adsorption characteristics. However, the high cost fragile nature ultrathin ceramic fiber paper assembling carrier created issues its commercial applications. Herein, a novel based on stainless-steel w...

In this study, calcined zeolite particles were used as internal curing agent to replace cement and quartz sand simultaneously in Ordinary Portland Cement(OPC) based Engineered Cementitious Composites(ECC) material. The influence of the zeolite-cement replacement on mechanical performance shrinkage materials experimentally investigated. ECC specimens with water-binder ratio 0.2 content 192 kg/m3...

Abstract Fly ash is the residue from burning coal in form of fine and light particles can be harmful to environment life. Whereas fly contains high silica so that it used as a precursor for zeolite blinding. Zeolite an adsorbent aquatic waste needs improved absorb more adsorbate. Therefore, necessary modify ash, such coating with manganese iron oxide. The made extraction synthesize using hydrot...

Coal seam gas (CSG) is the extraction of methane gas that is desorbed from the coal seam and brought to the surface using a dewatering and depressurisation process within the saturated coalbed. The extracted water is often referred to as co-produced CSG water. In this study, co-produced water from the coal seam of the Bowen Basin (QLD, Australia) was characterised by high concentration levels o...

Proton transport is an elementary process in the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides by ammonia (DeNOx by NH3-SCR) using metal-exchanged zeolites as catalysts. This review summarizes recent advancements in the study of proton transport in zeolite catalysts using in situ electrical impedance spectroscopy (IS) under NH3-SCR reaction conditions. Different factors, such as the metal ca...
