Given a commutative coherent ring R, a bijective correspondence between the thick subcategories of perfect complexes Dper(R) and the Serre subcategories of finitely presented modules is established. To construct this correspondence, properties of the Ziegler and Zariski topologies on the set of isomorphism classes of indecomposable injective modules are used in an essential way.

In 2009, Blagojević, Matschke & Ziegler established the first tight colored Tverberg theorem. We develop a colored version of our previous results (2008): Evenness and non-trivial lower bounds for the number of colored Tverberg partitions. Both properties follow from similar results on the number of colored Birch partitions.

Benzylcyanide and 4-nitrobenzylcyanide condensed with triethyl orthoformate and piperidine or morpholine to yield 2-aryl-2-piperidinyl or 2-morpholinylacrylonitriles. These coupled with aromatic diazonium salts to yield the 2-arylhydrazno-2-arylethane nitriles in good yields. The latter were converted into 4-aminopyrazoles in good yields using the Thorpe-Ziegler cyclization.

In this paper, the auto-tuning of decentralized PID controllers for MIMO processes using different relay feedback experiments is studied. These methods consist in identifying the ultimate point of the process, using relay feedback and applying Ziegler-Nichols-like formulae in order to tune the controllers. A benchmark illustrates the benefits and drawbacks of each approach.
