Catalytic behavior of isomorphously substituted B-, Al-, Ga-, and Fe-containing extra-large pore UTL zeolites was investigated in Knoevenagel condensation involving aldehydes, Pechmann condensation of 1-naphthol with ethylacetoacetate, and Prins reaction of β-pinene with formaldehyde and compared with large-pore aluminosilicate zeolite beta and representative Metal-Organic-Frameworks Cu3(BTC)2 ...
In this work, Fe3O4@nano-walnut shell/BIII (FNWSB), as a reusable and new catalyst was prepared then characterized by FT-IR, XRD, FESEM, EDS-MAP, TGA. This used for synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[a]xanthen-11-ones via three-component, one-pot condensation reaction dimedone, β-naphthol, aromatic aldehydes. An uncomplicated work-up, high yields product, short times, use low-cost are considerable ad...
A convenient route for cyanation and bromination of some electron-rich aromatics (anisole, 1,3-dimethoxybenzene, 1,4-dimethoxybenzene, 1,3,5-trimethoxybenzene and β-naphthol) by BrCN in the presence of aluminum trichloride (AlCl3), as catalyst, by grinding method under solvent-free conditions at room temperature to 60 °C was described in good yield. The structures of all obtained products were ...
The synthesis of 2-amino-2-chromenes under solvent-free conditions is disclosed here using a silica triflate catalyzed one-pot three component condensation. product was obtained in outstanding yield the optimal reaction range functionalized aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, and α/β-naphthol. This procedure stands out for its wide substrate scope, reduced time, great yield, functional group com...
Silica tungstic acid (STA) has been found to be an efficient and reusable solid acid catalyst for the synthesis of 2-amino-4H-chromenes via the three-component reaction of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, and β-naphthol. STA as a novel solid acid was characterized by X-ray fluorescence, X-ray diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.
Cucurbit[5]uril-metal complex-induced room-temperature phosphorescence of α-naphthol and β-naphthol.
Similar to the larger members of the cucurbituril family, such as cucurbit[8]uril (Q[8]), the smallest member, cucurbit[5]uril (Q[5]), can also induce room-temperature phosphorescence (RTP) of α-naphthol (1) and β-naphthol (2). The relationship between the RTP intensity of 1 and 2 and the concentration of Q[5] or Q[8] suggests that the mechanism underlying the Q[5] complex-induced RTP is differ...
