The formulation of strong and weak laws of large numbers for fuzzy random variables based on variance is given. The concept of the variance of fuzzy random variables, introduced by K1 orner (Fuzzy Sets and Systems 92 (1997) 83) and by Feng (Fuzzy Sets and Systems 120 (2001) 487) demonstrates its e2ciency. c © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. The aim of this paper is to point out and correct some errors of two theorems for IFSs in Atanassov (Two theorems for intuitionistic fuzzy sets, Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2000) and bring forward a new theorem for IFSs. In the end, some elementary, but non-standard equalities between IFSs were formulated.
in this work, we define a fuzzy soft set theory and its related properties. we then define fuzzy soft aggregation operator that allows constructing more efficient decision making method. finally, we give an example which shows that the method can be successfully applied to many problems that contain uncertainties.
In reply to Péter Majlender, the connection between the (maximum spread) equidifferent OWA operator weights and the analytical method for the minimum variance OWA operator problem [R. Fullér, P. Majlender, On obtaining minimal variability OWA operator weights, Fuzzy Sets and Systems 136 (2003) 203–215] is pointed out and the differences between them are clarified. 2006 Elsevier Inc. In 2011, Mallozzi et al. [Fuzzy Sets and Systems 165(2011) 98105] introduced a core-like concept (called F-core) and a balanced-like condition for games in which the worth of any coalition is given by means of a fuzzy interval. They proved that a balanced-like condition is necessary but not sufficient enough to guarantee the F-core to be non-empty. In this paper, we study deeply on this problem...
In this paper, we generalize Fuzzy Banach contraction theorem establishedby V. Gregori and A. Sapena [Fuzzy Sets and Systems 125 (2002) 245-252]using notion of altering distance which was initiated by Khan et al. [Bull. Austral.Math. Soc., 30(1984), 1-9] in metric spaces.
In this paper, we shall give examples to answer that an open problem posed by De Baets et al. in “Triangular norms on product lattices (Fuzzy Sets and Systems 104(1999), 61-75)”.
T is my great pleasure to welcome you to the inaugural I issue of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON FUZZY SYSTEMS. Many of you are probably quite familiar with the basic ideas underlying fuzzy sets and systems that utilize fuzzy models. However, there will also be readers who are looking at the contents of this issue, wondering what it’s all about. For this latter group, the papers in this first issue m...
In this note, we show by counterexamples that some results of Qiu and colleagues [On the restudy of fuzzy complex analysis: Part I. The sequence and series of fuzzy complex numbers and their convergences, Fuzzy Sets and Systems 115 (2000) 445–450; On the restudy of fuzzy complex analysis: Part II. The continuity and differentiation of fuzzy complex functions, Fuzzy Sets and Systems 120 (2001) 5...
Using mid-infrared and radio criteria, we select a sample of candidate z ∼ 2 obscured quasars. Optical spectroscopy confirms about half of these as type-2 quasars, and modelling the population suggests 50-80% of the quasars are obscured. We find some flat radio spectrum type-2 quasars, and tentative evidence for obscuration unrelated to the torus. Using a similar sample, we also find evidence f...
