Glomerulonephritis is an important cause of renal failure thought to be caused by autoimmune damage to the kidney. While each type of glomerulonephritis begins with a unique initiating stimulus, subsequent common inflammatory and fibrotic events lead to a final pathway of progressive renal damage. In this article the different forms of inflammatory glomerulonephritis and their diagnosis are dis...

106 rabbits received one or more courses of inoculations, spaced 1-4 months apart, with Group A streptococci, usually of strains isolated from patients with acute glomerulonephritis. 8 days to a few weeks after onset of a given infection with streptococci known to have been nephritogenic for man, marked proteinuria, often with hematuria and occasionally with azotemia, was detected in 22 of the ...

Glomerulonephritis associated with visceral abscess is being increasingly recognized. The association of glomerulonephritis with visceral suppuration in the absence of endocarditis was first described by Whitworth and associates. Abscesses were most frequently located in the respiratory tract but have been reported at numerous other sites, including appendix, uterus, aorto-femoral bypass graft ...

A case is reported of Bancroftian filariasis and acute immune complex glomerulonephritis in a 44-year-old man. Renal biopsy showed microfilariae and large numbers of eosinophils in the glomeruli (eosinophilic glomerulonephritis). The absence of other aetiological factors suggests that the glomerulonephritis may have been of filarial origin.

S U M M A R Y 1. Platelet survival was measured in patients with acute proliferative glomerulonephritis or chronic renal failure and also in control subjects. 2. Platelet survival is markedly reduced in acute proliferative glomerulonephritis as compared with control subjects; it was slightly reduced in patients in chronic renal failure due to interstitial renal disease and maintained on dialysis.

The renal lesions are of special importance in the captive primates. The most commonly pathologies are: pyelonephritis, nephrocalcinosis, glomerulonephritis, congenital malformations, hydronephrosis and functional diseases. We report the histopathological study of renal lesions of five cases of deaths in Cebus apella (Primates) of the Argentinean Primate Center. The ages of the monkeys were fro...

In order to evaluate the effects of acute glomerulonephritis on the circulation, 6 patients were investigated at rest and during moderate exercise. With the patients in a state of rest the cardiac index and the stroke volume index were significantly higher in acute glomerulonephritis than normal, despite significantly raised right and left atrial pressures. Oxygen consumption was significantly ...

Russell’s viper bite causing coagulopathy, hypotension, DIC, rhabdomyolysis and acute kidney injury. Nephropathy usually is caused by RV having hemotoxic or myotoxic venom components. Multiple mechanism causes renal pathologic changes including tubular necrosis, cortical interstitial nephritis, glomerulonephritis. But above all glomerulonephritis very rare. We report a case of who died failure ...
