We introduce a novel and robust active queue management (AQM) scheme based on a Proportional-IntegralDerivative (PID) controller, called Neuron PID, that uses an adaptive neuron to tune its parameters. We demonstrate by simulations that Neuron PID stabilizes the router queue length regardless of the round trip delay better than other well-known AQM algorithms.

This paper presents a description of application of stochastic weights in a neuron, problem solved through the adaptive estimation achieved with dynamical combination between the identification and estimation; having an adaptive structure that updates the estimated parameters into the integrated filter. The weights are dynamically adjusted in the neuron based on stochastic gradient, affecting t...

Land leveling is one of the most important steps in soil preparation and cultivation. Although land leveling with machines requires considerable amount of energy, it delivers a suitable surface slope with minimal soil deterioration as well as damage to plants and other organisms in the soil. Notwithstanding, in recent years researchers have tried to reduce fossil fuel consumption and its delete...

In this work, we present the depth-adaptive deep neural network using a depth map for semantic segmentation. Typical deep neural networks receive inputs at the predetermined locations regardless of the distance from the camera. This fixed receptive field presents a challenge to generalize the features of objects at various distances in neural networks. Specifically, the predetermined receptive ...

We describe an accelerated hardware neuron being capable of emulating the adaptive exponential integrate-and-fire neuron model. Firing patterns of the membrane stimulated by a step current are analyzed in transistor level simulations and in silicon on a prototype chip. The neuron is destined to be the hardware neuron of a highly integrated wafer-scale system reaching out for new computational p...
