Some new results on calculating moving average representation (MAR) coefficients and their limiting distribution from estimated vector ARMA processes are presented. The technique is applied to the problem of estimating the coefficients of unanticipated or 'surprise' variables in a single equation for a multi-period expectations horizon. The method naturally conditions the expectations on all pa...
Nonlinear characteristics of wind speed and generator model in wind energy conversion systems required an optimal controller for optimal performance and high efficiency of the system. So a controller must be designed for this purpose. Here, the PID controller is used which its coefficients are optimized based on genetic algorithms. In order to use this algorithm, first this problem has to be fo...
This paper presents a new technique for and the results of normalizing building energy consumption to enable a fair comparison among various types of buildings located near different weather stations across the United States. The method was developed for the U.S. Building Energy Asset Score, a whole-building energy efficiency rating system focusing on building envelope, mechanical systems, and ...
We identify “spurious” states in meson-baryon scattering, those that appear in QCD for Nc > 3 but decouple for Nc = 3. The key observation is that the relevant flavor SU(3) Clebsch-Gordan coefficients contain factors of 1−3/Nc. We show that this method works even if SU(3) is badly broken. We also observe that resonant scattering poles lying outside naive quark model multiplets are not necessari...
The complex analytic methods have found a wide range of applications in the study of multiplicity-free representations. This article discusses, in particular, its applications to the question of restricting highest weight modules with respect to reductive symmetric pairs. We present a number of multiplicity-free branching theorems that include the multiplicity-free property of some of known res...
ABSTRACT: We develop a simple computational tool for SU(3) analogous to Bargmann’s calculus for SU(2). Crucial new inputs are, (i) explicit representation of the Gelfand-Zetlin basis in terms of polynomials in four variables and positive or negative integral powers of a fifth variable (ii) an auxiliary Gaussian measure with respect to which the Gelfand-Zetlin states are orthogonal but not norma...
Quantum Lie algebras are generalizations of Lie algebras which have the quantum parameter h built into their structure. They have been defined concretely as certain submodules Lh(g) of the quantized enveloping algebras Uh(g). On them the quantum Lie product is given by the quantum adjoint action. Here we define for any finite-dimensional simple complex Lie algebra g an abstract quantum Lie alge...
A Gel’fand-Zetlin basis is introduced for the irreducible covariant tensor representations of the Lie superalgebra gl(m|n). Explicit expressions for the generators of the Lie superalgebra acting on this basis are determined. Furthermore, Clebsch-Gordan coefficients corresponding to the tensor product of any covariant tensor representation of gl(m|n) with the natural representation V ([1, 0, . ....
