Bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia (BOOP) is a pulmonary disorder with a wide spectrum of radiological features. We report the case of a 58 year old woman, in whom the radiological appearance was multiple cavitary nodules in both lungs, that responded with a complete resolution after corticosteroid therapy. This finding justifies the inclusion of BOOP in the differential diagnosis of...

We report a 17-year-old woman with bronchiolitis obliterans-organizing pneumonia (BOOP)-like granulomatosis with polyangiitis developing severe airway obliterations. Pending age, phase and grade of autoimmune treatment, and offering ECMO treatment may be crucial for survival but occasionally preface futility. ECMO-treated patient with BOOP-like GPA has never been described before.

A 64-year-old woman developed a relapse of Plasmodium vivax malaria followed by a rapidly progressive diffuse patchy pulmonary process. Open lung biopsy specimen showed bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia (BOOP). After corticosteroid therapy was initiated, there was both clinical and radiographic improvement. This is believed to be the first reported association of BOOP with malaria.

A 47 year old woman developed idiopathic bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia (BOOP) presenting with haemoptysis and diffuse multiple cavitary nodules. The disease was histologically confirmed by open lung biopsy after other entities had been excluded. The patient responded to a course of corticosteroids. This BOOP should be added to the list of diseases with multiple cavitary nodules.

The association of bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia (BOOP) with polymyalgia rheumatica is rare, and only one case has previously been described. This study reports on the case of an 80 yr-old male who presented with malaise, nonproductive cough and exertional dyspnoea for several weeks, along with a history of bilateral shoulder and pelvic girdle pain of several months' duration. T...

Background: Many patients are affected by idiopathicbronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia (BOOP). There are several known causes of BOOP, and several systemic disorders have BOOP as an associated primary pulmonary lesion. Numerous agents including cytotoxic and noncytotoxic drugs have the potential to cause pulmonary toxicity. Descriptions of amiodaronerelated BOOP continue to be report...

Bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia (BOOP) occurred in a 53-year-old woman with well-documented Sjögren's syndrome (SjS) and polymyositis (PM). BOOP has often been reported as a pulmonary manifestation of collagen vascular diseases, mainly rheumatoid arthritis (RA), but the association of BOOP and PM has rarely been documented. A search of the literature showed only 16 case reports of...

Bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia (BOOP) is a diffuse infiltrative pulmonary disorder that has an insidious onset. The patient often presents with flu-like symptoms and radiological findings showing bilateral patchy infiltrates. Histological features show fibromyxoid connective tissue plugs that are evenly spaced in small distal airways and alveolar spaces. Treatment for BOOP is cor...
