Background: Diagnosis and early intervention of chronic kidney disease is essential to prevent loss of a large amount of financial resources. For this reason, the researcher is seeking to design a fuzzy logic based expert system for diagnosis of chronic kidney disease.   Methods: At first, a strategic search was conducted in the Pubmed database for initial identification of the parameters. A ...

in this paper, we give some characterizations for legendre spherical, legendre normal and legendre rectifying curves in the 3-dimensional sasakian space. furthermore, we show that legendre spherical curves are also legendre normal curves. in particular, we prove that the inverse of curvature of a legendre rectifying curve is a non-constant linear function of the arclength parameter.

In the 1980s, a version of a marginal problem considered in this paper was connected, with the necessity to cope with a task of knowledge integration in probabilistic expert systems. In practical situations, marginal distributions representing pieces of local knowledge are often inconsistent. The present paper introduces an interval-valued solution, which always exists, of a marginal problem ev...

Our earlier research indicated the feasibility of applying the PREDIQT method for model-based prediction of impacts of architectural design changes on system quality. The PREDIQT method develops and makes use of so called prediction models, a central part of which are the “Dependency Views” (DVs) – weighted trees representing the relationships between architectural design and the quality charac...

UNLABELLED The purpose of the study was to compare diuresis renography scan interpretation generated by a renal expert system with the consensus interpretation of 3 expert readers. METHODS The expert system was evaluated in 95 randomly selected furosemide-augmented patient studies (185 kidneys) obtained for suspected obstruction; there were 55 males and 40 females with a mean age +/- SD of 58...

In this paper we report an application of machine learning methods to classify gene names into two categories: known and unknown ones. We acquired a data set of 1,624 genes by letting a human expert classify them manually. To capture the knowledge of classification, we also asked the expert to derive a set of rules. In parallel, we trained two machine learners to capture the same knowledge. Bot...

The present study describes an auxiliary tool in the diagnosis of left ventricular (LV) segmental wall motion (WM) abnormalities based on color-coded echocardiographic WM images. An artificial neural network (ANN) was developed and validated for grading LV segmental WM using data from color kinesis (CK) images, a technique developed to display the timing and magnitude of global and regional WM ...

We analyzed pancreatic enzyme data from 508 patients with suspected pancreatitis by neural network analysis, by an Expert multirule generation protocol, and by receiver-operator characteristic (ROC) curve analysis of a single test result. Neural network analysis showed that use of lipase provided the best means for diagnosing pancreatitis. Diagnostic accuracies achieved by using amylase only, l...
